The Importance of History |
|
History is the record of past events. The recording of our history has been passed down in many ways including through writing, art, and storytelling. The study of History is important to mankind because it tells us where we came from and where we are headed. Understanding our past helps us determine the course of our future. The knowledge of history isn’t simply names, places and dates, it’s about theories and concepts and understanding the why as much as the who, what, where or when. Without a knowledge of our history we would be like a ship with no compass, we would be—lost. |
