Deadline for Voter Registration

The general elections for President, NC Governor, NC Senate, and other races are just around the corner--November 4, 2008.  You must be registered in order to vote in the upcoming elections.  Voter registration deadline is October 10.  To register, go to www.wakegov.com/elections

Early Voting - No Excuses - Starts October 16

Avoid the long lines on November 4.  Vote Early!  NC law allows citizens to vote early at certain voting locations around the state.  Locations include malls, community centers, and the Board of Elections.  To find a location, go to www.wakevotesearly.com

If you miss the voter registration deadline, you may register and vote at the same time.  A new law allows qualified residents to register and vote at the same time at early voting locations through a process called In Person Registration.  Voters who register at an early voting location must provide an acceptable form of identification before being allowed to vote.  In person registration is not permitted on Election Day.
