I'm a historian who teaches and writes about the interactions, past and present, of science and technology with society and culture. I created this site as a way of "publishing" work that might not otherwise find a home.

I got my BA from Brown University in 1985 and my PhD from the University of Wisconsin--Madison in 1990. Since 1998, I've been an adjunct professor in the Social and International Studies Department at Southern Polytechnic State University, just north of Atlanta.
