This CD is notable for a few reasons. It was a strange hybrid, combining the Toaster People cassette with 4 new recordings with our then new drummer, Danny Welsh. Some might say these 4 new songs are some of our best ever, and they'd be right. Both sets of recordings, the Toaster People recordings and the new ones, were done at Harry's house, probably on yet another borrowed ADAT machine. As I recall, the mixing gave us fits - Well, it gave Mike Rotolante fits. There were phase problems with the drum tracks, we insisted on using a microphone that was placed inside the oven in the kitchen (it sounds awesome, man!), the vocals weren't done that well, it was a slipshod affair all around. Also noteworthy was the clever "radio" sound effects during the bridge of #1 for takeoff. Why didn't we do that on the real album? So, recorded by Squeaky, vocal recording and mix by Mike Rotolante, mastered? Who knows. Probably by Mike, too. This CD was the audio precursor to Ninjaspiderhorse, and it shows a lot of enthusiasm, to which I will credit Danny. Cool photo of Steve's ass, taken in Pensacola, by either someone in PopCanon or someone in Mower. Cover by Malcolm Guess' brother, whose name escapes me.
