My job keeps me on the road a lot and sometimes I get to go to places that I really enjoy.  This past fall, the company I work with sent me to Portland Maine for a four month project.  I had always heard how beautiful New England was during the fall.  My colleagues who got sent to places like Waco TX, and Cincinnati OH (not that there is anything wrong with those places) were jealous.  Basically, I got the best place during the best time of year.

Kristin and I try to take advantage of these trips I take for work and combine a vacation in there somewhere.  We do this primarily to cut down on the airline expenses.  I can get work to pay for my ticket if we time our trip just right.  So Kristin and I decided to plan a little trip to Maine but we knew that we would not be able to do everything that we wanted to so we had to decide between wanting to see the foliage of Maine's interior or cruise up the coastline and take in as many lighthouses as we could.  We opted for the latter and were not disappointed.

I have a good friend who lives in Belfast ME
and I reached out to him to help me plan our trip.  We were fortunate to him as our vacation planner because we had an incredible time and got to see some amazing sights.  We managed to see all the best lighthouses Maine has to offer.  Our days were packed and we enjoyed every minute of it.  If I had to pick my two favorite spots though, I would have to say Monhegan Island where we took some amazing photos and Camden ME. In Camden we got to take a clipper cruise on Schooner Surprise and stayed in the excellent Blackberry Common B&B which I would highly recommend. We took loads of pictures that we would love for you to check out.
