Quotes

“Team Sailing For Life is one of our strongest contenders in the new double handed Paralympic class, the SKUD 18 - a "lead assisted skiff" with a powerful asymmetrical spinnaker.  Over the past several years, Karen has showcased her talent in the two person keelboat arena by posting multiple podium finishes on the National and International stage in the Martin 16, a two person keelboat with an asymmetrical spinnaker.  With the IFDS (International Federation for Disabled Sailing) requiring at least one female sailor on board this new boat, Karen has the perfect opportunity to show the world what she's got!”

Betsy Allison, the US Disabled Sailing Team Coach, 5-time Rolex Yachtswoman of the Year, and past Yngling Women's World Champion.

"My bets are on Karen and Richard to win the gold in the Two-Person Keelboat event at the 2012 Paralympic Games.  They has what it takes to win."

Magnus Liljedahl, 2000 Olympic Gold Medalist in the Star Class, teamPARADISE.

“Karen Mitchell is most definitely the best disabled female sailor in North America and possibly in the world,”  With the proper support and teaming up with Richard, she could well beat the best disabled skippers in the world,  regardless of their gender.”

Kerry Gruson, Shake-A-Leg Miami Race Chair; Member, Women's Committee, USSA; Member, SWSN Committee, USSA.
