There is a club team that has practices on Thursday nights and Sundays at Deerfield High school. The coach is the former Boca High coach Ken Tyler. The club name is East Coast Water polo, and the coach's telephone number is 561-843-6138. I asked him if we could put up this info on our website and he thought it would be great to have some Boca players. This is a relatively low key program, good for starting up.

Team Bonding & Parent Booster "Get Together" On December 5 at 4:00pm at Sugar Sand Park. We have reserved a pavilion. More details as it approaches.

The Boca High Water Polo Parent Booster Club had its first get together of the year on August 29 at Laurie Spear's house. It was a Wine and Cheese Party for parents only. For those that were able to attend it was a great way to meet the other parents and discuss ways to help make this year a successful and fun year for the teams.

Officers were elected for this season:

Joe Grady will serve as President.

Liliana Suarez-Murias will be the returning Treasurer.

For the Vice President position, it was decided to have one represent the Girls team and one represent the Boys Team. For the girls team, Lisa (Megan's mom) and Wendy (Alex's mom) will co chair the position. For the Boys, it will be DeDe (Denver's mom) and Brenda (Brandon's mom) co chairing.

We had several volunteers sign up for the following committees: Banquet, Concessions, and Fundraising.

The main points of discussion were the hiring of a new coach, scheduling the games, and the pool location. Joe Grady is already working with Coach Hill and the Athletic Department to put these items in place. The pool location and fees leads us to our next main topic: Fundraising. Pool fees will be a reality this season as the pool at the school is still not under construction. First Southern Bank has already donated $300 for sponsorship of the team. However, we are still in need of other sponsors so if you have any businesses in mind that would like to donate, please email DeDe at dddmeredith@aol.com or Laurie Spear at lspear@bellsouth.net and they can get you the necessary forms.

Uniforms, team shirts and team robes were also discussed along with the Team Handbook. Final decisions on these will be made with the new coach but the Booster Club will have all the information ready for the coach's approval. Captains will have the responsibility of designing the team tshirts so that they will be rady at the beginning of the season.

It was decided that there will be a Team Bonding and Parent Booster get together on Nov 21 at Suger Sand Park. More information will follow as the date gets closer.

If anyone has any ideas or would like to volunteer for the above committees, please do not hesitate to contact one of the above officers.

Both the Boys and the Girls teams had nice seasons.
