THE SACRED TRIDUUM

(Holy Thursday, Good Friday & Holy Saturday)

Holy Thursday, March 20

Mass of the Lord’s Supper  7:00 p.m.

On this special night we commemorate

the Institution of the Eucharist and are reminded through the Washing of the Feet, that all are called to ministry.

Good Friday, March 21

Celebration of the Lord’s Passion

7:00 p.m.

As a parish community we will gather to celebrate the sacredness of this day.  This service includes the reading of the Passion, the Veneration of the Cross and the distribution of Communion.

*Easter Vigil Mass, Saturday, March 22

Night Watch of the Resurrection

8:00 p.m.

* The Easter Vigil is to take place in darkness.  In light of the directives of the Missale Romanum (Roman Missal), and cognizant of the fact that sunset on Saturday, March 22 occurs at

7:30 p.m., and darkness occurs approximately thirty minutes      after sunset, the Church of the Resurrection will begin

the Vigil Mass at 8:00 p.m.

Many Catholics have never witnessed this most Important service of the Church year. Come be with us, as we celebrate

Baptism, Confirmation, and First Eucharist with those

adults and children who are joining the Catholic Church.

LENTEN REGULATIONS

FAST & ABSTINENCE

All members of the Christian Faithful are bound to do penance. Penitential days are prescribed in which the faithful, in a special way, PRAY, exercise works of PIETY and CHARITY, and DENY themselves by fulfilling their responsibilities more faithfully by observing FAST AND ABSTINENCE.

§        FAST (ages 18 to 59): Only one full meal a day. (Limiting oneself to one full meal or two lighter meals)

§        ABSTINENCE (ages 14 & older)

§        ASH WEDNESDAY & GOOD FRIDAY - Days of Fast and Abstinence (meat or meat products not allowed)

§        FRIDAYS OF LENT - Days of Abstinence (meat or meat products not allowed)

Of course illness releases one from these obligations, but the faithful should undertake additional works of piety, charity, and/or prayer.
