In Patrick's own words:
"I first arrived at
Resurrection by invitation from
Rev.
Ernie DeBlasio, Pastor of
Resurrection Church.
I, along with a few others
began discerning our call to the priesthood, brotherhood, sisterhood
and married life.

This was a time of prayer and also trials. My
discernment was a slow process, but my first step was taking Ray's
job at the Church when he retired.
During my time as the
maintenance man, I grew closer to God. The parish family became my
family as I was there for many of the celebrations. I was also
present for the difficult times when we lost a member of our family.
he Easter Triduum of
2004 began another step in my discernment; I felt something missing
in my heart. I did not begin by doubting my call, but picked up the
phone and called Fr. Keith Stewart. Shortly afterward, I started the
application process to enter the seminary.
The process was a year of
growth for me spiritually, but I also began finding the person I was
inside.
Patience has always been
a virtue strongly
held, but the process was a test to my patience.
I have now begun my
second year of studies at St. Joseph Seminary College."
