Altar Servers Fr. Ernie DeBlasio/Dennis Clynes Ph: 759-0957
Altar servers fulfill a very
important ministry at every liturgy. Their service adds to the
orderly and prayerful nature of our worship by assisting the priest
celebrant at the altar by holding the book for opening and closing
prayers, providing solemnity for the Gospel procession and Offertory
procession. During the Liturgy of the Eucharist, servers set the
altar table with the sacred vessels. They bring the water & wine
used for the consecration; tray for washing of the hands; and ring
the bells at the consecration.
Lectors Fr. Ernie DeBlasio Ph: 794-8970
Readers who proclaim the Word of God
at Mass. They prepare in advance the readings for the Mass,
proclaim them at Mass, lead Prayers of the Faithful, and assist in
other ways as needed. Lectors must possess the ability to read and
understand the scripture being read and have an ability to be
comfortable standing in front of people when reading. High school
age and older are eligible. Eucharistic Ministers Fr. Ernie DeBlasio Ph: 794-8970 Adult Parishoners who distribute the Eucharist at Mass. Eucharistic Ministers must possess a reverence for the Blessed Sacrament.

Before Mass, the sacristan prepares the vessels and books to be used and sets them out in proper locations.
After service, the sacristan “purifies” the vessels that contained the Precious Body and Blood and ensures they are ready for the next Mass.
Ushers/Greeters Joe Brink Ph: 362-3681 Parishioners who greet, welcome and assist people attending our liturgical celebrations. They arrive early and ensure that the church is ready for the liturgy.
Greeters
are our welcoming presence to known parishioners and especially to
visitors. Ushers direct people to their pews so that all may be comfortably seated, ensure gifts are ready for Offertory procession, and select individuals or family to bring the gifts to the celebrant. They take up the collection, answer questions and are available for general assistance.
Who may serve in this ministry? Although it is mostly men who have served as ushers/greeters in the past, female adults are allowed and encouraged. It requires a generous heart, ability to make a time commitment and interest in this type of service.
