Marie's Crockpot Chicken and Dressing

1 3 lb. chicken, cut up
8 slices of white, day-old bread torn into small pieces
1 8 inch skillet of cooked cornbread, crumbled
4 eggs
2 can cream of chicken soup
2 teaspoons of sage
1 medium onion, chopped
1/2 cup celery, chopped
salt and pepper to taste

Cook chicken covered with water for about 45 minutes or until tender. Remove chicken
from the broth and save the broth.  Cool the chicken, remove the bones, and cut into
chunks.  Set the chicken aside.

Combine the bread and cornbread. Add eggs, soup, sage and 2 1/2 to 3 cups of
reserved broth.

Stir the chicken into the dressing and put the mixture in a large crockpot.  Put 2 tablespoons of butter on top.

Cook on high for 3 hours.  Turn to low and cook 3 more hours
