The Town of Woodville is the oldest town in Jackson County, Alabama and was incorporated May 12, 1890. Woodville is positioned 34.62 degrees north of the equator and 86.28 degrees west of the prime meridian. The distance from Woodville to the state capital in Montgomery is 156 statute miles. Faye Cook was elected mayor in the 2000 election and her term began on October 2, 2000.  She was elected to a second term in 2004.  The Mayor and Council meet on the 1st Tuesday of each month at 6:30pm in the town hall. The public is invited to attend.
