Risk Management for Meetings & Events

  • Review of meeting and event documentation including contracts, insurance policies, and waivers.
  • Development of a risk management site selection checklist customized to the organization, its attendees, program, and typical destinations and venues used.
  • On-site meeting risk management walk-through and communication with risk management team, venue, security, and local law enforcement and emergency responders.
  • In-house risk team formation or review with recommendations for team process, communication, and documentation.
  • Development of a written risk management plan for meetings and events.
  • Recommendations for ongoing disaster preparedness training for staff and volunteers.

Education & Learning

  • Development of course materials for traditional in-person or online delivery in the areas of meeting and event management or association management.
  • Conduct a learning audit for meetings including audit of the use and demonstration of adult learning principles, development of a learning matrix for program content to determine gaps, and review of certification/licensure requirements, if appropriate.
  • Competitive analysis of learning programs that may compete for association member learning dollars and commitment.
  • Review of evaluation instruments, results, and use of evaluation feedback in subsequent programs.
  • Research meeting attendee learning styles and motivations and recommend ways to tailor meeting education to learners to maximize satisfaction and return on education.
  • Development of speaker materials that integrate adult learning theories and practices.
  • Speaker training.

Ethics

  • Review of ethical policies and procedures for meeting professionals, staff, volunteers, and board.
  • Drafting or review and revision of code of ethics for staff, volunteers, members, or meeting attendees.
  • Drafting or review of conflict of interest documentation for association or non-profit organization board members.
  • Ethics workshops or training for staff, volunteers, or members.

Consulting services may take place either remotely or on-site at the client's place of business or meeting site. Fees are typically quoted on an hourly or a project basis, depending on the scope of services. For on-site consulting, travel, lodging, and meal expenses are required to be prepaid or reimbursed.
