Classroom Management

In order to maintain an effective learning environment for all students we must have rules and consequences. The classroom rules for this class are very simple.

1. Respect yourself

2. Respect others

3. Respect your school

Rewards and Consequences

Rewards

1. Students will be rewarded for good behavior by having a calm peaceful place to learn.

2. They will be given verbal praise and a chance to be successful.

3. Students will be able to earn tokens and will be rewarded by having their token drawn for class jobs and errands.

Consequences

1. Warning

*2. Discussion with teacher and behavior slip completed.

*3. Possible placement in time out or other consequence agreed to with student.

*4. Loss of recess

*5. Referral to office

* parent phone call and conference if needed

A behavior report will be sent home each week in the Tuesday Folder. Please sign it and leave it in the folder.

As well as the individual rewards the class as a whole can also earn rewards. We will decide together what reward they want to work towards. For example, the reward might be an ice cream party. I will write ice cream on the board. Every time they are given a compliment by another teacher they earn a letter. When I notice everyone being totally on task and working hard they can earn a letter. When we earn all of the letters in ice cream we will have an ice cream party on the next Friday.

I expect to have an excellent year with very few behavior problems.
