100% Soy Wax MaddieClay’s Homemade Candles is a home-based business which began in July 2005 and is located in the beautiful town of Saint Francisville, Louisiana. Our candles are made of 100% soy wax and are wicked with cotton wicks, no lead! We offer a variety of fragrances and sizes. Using 100% soy wax supports our farmers and our great nation's economy. The most popular feature of all of our candles are how well they "throw" scent and how "real" the scent is right to the end. Soy wax burns much cleaner and longer than paraffin wax and produces less soot. No candle can be “soot free”, but natural candles, such as soy, produce way less soot. Soy wax is non-toxic and non-carcinogenic. All of our candles are highly scented and burn evenly all the way to the bottom when properly maintained. As always, use caution when burning your candles and never leave them unattended. Keep the wick trimmed to 1/4” at all times to avoid carbon build up on the wick, known as mushrooming, and to avoid dark smoking. As with any candle, make sure that the top portion of the candle is fully melted before "snuffing out" to avoid tunneling. Do not burn your candle for more than 3-4 hours at a time. Always allow your candle to cool before replacing the lid on the jar and always place candle on a protected, heat-resistant, level surface.
