Tour Easy meets Velocity 2
Before I started this project I decided
it would be easier to take a digital pic of several
bike frames and create the bike virtually using photo editing software like Adobe Photoshop. This
project started with a pic of a Rans V2. I’ve always wanted to
create a recumbent from a single bike and the V2 looked like it could be the
model for one.
Virtual
Hacksaw
This was my first virtual assembly using a Trek 830 MTB

The Nishiki frame
ended up being the candidate for this project.
Cuts made to the frame
Re-assembled
Added two long stays from a Mixte frame bike between the bottom brackets

Tack welded and out of the jig for final
welding

Welded, striped and cleaned.

Ready to ride
Replaced the EMT (electrical conduit) that
was being used for the seat back with the aluminum frame from a backpack. Reduced the weight by a pound and found it
to be more comfortable.

Shifting was a little sloppy due to chain length so I mounted an idler
on the rear bottom bracket shell.
