NEXT GENERAL MEMBERSHIP

   
  Our next meeting will be on Thursday, The first Thursday of every month except for December, at 7:00 pm at LaPoussiere in Breaux Bridge, LA.  The meal is usually pot luck.   Music will be provided.

     Come join us for some great Cajun music and some good Cajun cooking.  Introduce friends and family members to the CFMA by inviting them to be your guest at one of our meetings.  We welcome guests and hope they like our chapter and decide to join the CFMA.

NEW DAWN COMPETITION

At our General Membership Meeting on    Thursday, at LaPoussiere, we will be having the contest for the "New Dawn Award" for the Chapitre de Lafayette.

If you know anyone who would be interested, please have them call Joey or Debra Langlinais at 337-993-0126.  We will need a brief bio on each contestant including address and phone number. New Dawn Contestants should be      between 6 - 16 years of age (cannot be under 6 or over 16 as of August 1, 2007).  For those who will be playing an instrument, there will be a band to accompany them.

This award is to encourage young people to get  involved in the CFMA and the Cajun culture, whether it be through music, dancing, the          language, the food or the affairs of the chapter.



LaPoussiere Dances
Saturday nights from 7 -11:00 p.m.  - Walter Mouton & Scott Playboys and Sunday afternoon dances from 3-7:00 p.m. with Jackie Caillier & the Cajun Cousins. More info, call 332-1721.

Cajun French Music Jam Session

Every other Saturday at Touchet's on U.S. Hwy.167 in Maurice, LA. Starts at 2:00 pm followed by a free supper. Jam sessions for Janaury 14th & 28th.   Young musicians are welcome if accompanied by a parent. For more info call Calvin or Donna Touchet at 893-9882.
