Several sites told me that you don't have to pay to sign up for
surveys, you can do it all by yourself. I have signed up for
about 20 sites, and have made $0 so far, excluding the cost in
time and effort to sign up. In the first place, most of the
research firms DON'T actually pay you cash; they pay you in
reward points. If you manage to make it to about 800
points (most surveys are worth 10-75 points), you too can
get.... a duffel bag worth about $16! The best thing about paying for the survey company database is that all of your information is together in one place. I was running all over the internet looking for research companies to sign up with, and I probably missed several that would have been good. I did find out from research that if you are going to pay, you need to make sure that the company is reputable and has good customer service. These two companies do that.

The best free sign-up was Tik Tik Cash. They pay mostly by doing "free" 30-day trials. You sign up with a company, give them your credit card, and try their product for 30 days. You MUST make sure you cancel before the 30 days are up or you will get charged. You can make some money this way; it takes about 5-6 weeks for them to verify that you have tried a service.
Another free sign-up service was secret web shopper. I never got paid for the ones I tried out, but I don't think I did it right. You can certainly try it yourself.

This e-book IS a step-by-step program to getting your own
site and how to affiliate with other businesses to make some
money. (It's what I used to navigate around the internet to get
this site). This is a great book since it gives such clear
instructions. Also, Dustin Struckman is an internet maven who
knows what he's talking about. I did a google search on him and

This e-book is exactly the step-by-step "how to profit with affiliation" that is probably written with newbies and intermediate affiliates in mind. It's not expensive, and it really helps!!
