Literary guru?

Someone at work noticed this quote from A Tale Of Two Cities in my email trailer. Along with my contact information, this has been part of my standard email trailer for over two years.

"I say, Jerry! You'd be in a Blazing bad way if recalling to life was to come into fashion, Jerry!"

The person who noticed it asked, "Are you a literary guru? Noticed your quote? ..."

This was my reply:

Naw, I just reread ATOTC a couple of years ago, and when I got to that quote at the end of chapter 2 (by Jerry Cruncher, the bank messenger, talking to himself over a beer in a tavern), I was bowled over by the number of levels it plays on, both for himself (in terms of Jerry's moonlighting job) and figuratively (in terms of the story, theme and plot of the book). There are some books you should read more than once; I would have missed this had I not read the book before.
