Bio 3
I am Judy Mayo from Texas - daughter of Velma Rosser Oxford Mayo who was related to the Hastings family. My great-grandfather Lafayette Gregg Oxford (b. 1854) married Nancy Melissa Hastings (b. 1860), 2nd child of William Wallace Hastings (b. 1833) and Margarette Ann Philpot (b.1841).Their son, John Jay Oxford, was my grandfather (and a very bad one at that as he abandoned my grandmother Mary McCorry Henderson Oxford (b.1881) and 4 children when my mother was a baby). My father was Clyde Culberson Mayo. We are from South Texas area - lived in Sinton Texas area during my childhood.
Dad was farmer/rancher, originally from Robstown TX. Mother was an elementary school teacher.
My husband, Sid Aaron, and I were married in 1987. We live in Kalamazoo, Michigan where we both work as toxicologists in the pharmaceutical industry. See attached picture of us camping in Maine
last summer.

Judy Mayo and Husband Sid
My great-great grandfather James Franklin Henderson Jr was born in Pickens Co, SC. See attached information about him. His daughter, Z Frank (Frankie) Henderson was my great-grandmother. James F Henderson married and fought in the Civil War, was captured twice and spent most of the war in union prison camps. He came home and eventually had 12 children, 7 of whom lived (several starved to death during the war). My great-grandmother Frankie was the only child to have any children, one of which was my Grandmother Mary Henderson who married John Jay Oxford (the rat) and that’s my link to the Hastings.
