TOURNAMENT CONDITIONS

  1. The Southeast Backgammon Championships are by invitation only. Any entry may be refused with no reason given.
  2. This is an American Backgammon Tour sanctioned event. All players who cash in the Championship, Advanced and Novice divisions will earn ABT points.
  3. The director reserves the right to disallow an entrant from playing below his or her skill level.
  4. All matches will be played according to the U.S. Backgammon Tournament Rules & Procedures (January 2008) and, when applicable, the U.S. Backgammon Clock Rules & Procedures (October 2007).
  5. Byes and initial pairings will be randomly assigned by public draw.
  6. Posted match times will be strictly adhered to. Penalty points will be awarded when a player is late for a scheduled start or resumption of a match. Players must sign out with the staff when leaving the playing room for more than ten minutes.
  7. “Clocks allowed” events permit a Bronstein time clock to be used at the request of either player or team. Players can ensure availability by bringing their own clock, though a supply of clocks will be available from the tournament.
  8. Time clocks may be applied to any match when the director deems it is necessary to keep the tournament on schedule.
  9. All deposits are fully refundable until 10:30 PM on Friday, May 2, 2008. Only cash will be accepted after Friday, April 25, 2008.
  10. The Holiday Inn is a non-smoking hotel per Dekalb County ordinance. There is no separate smoking room for play. One ten minute smoking break is allowed per match between games.
  11. Cell phones must be turned OFF while matches are in progress!
  12. The director may modify the format of any event to maximize the experience of the players.
