9-12-06 I am looking for information on Providence Church in Milton County. The notes I have say it was organized Dec 20, 1834 with six members. The members in my list are Joseph Walker and wife, Drusilla Walker and others. Rev Solomon Peek was the first pastor. In 1958 they had 265 members and Rev H G McGinnis was the pastor. The reason I am interested is my grandfather joined the church as a young boy and I would like to add more information about the church for our family archives. Several different Wood families lived in Milton County at this time 1880-1900. Any help would be appreciated.

8-10-05 Any descendents of the following families I am very interested in and would like to have info : Green B. Scott, once a trustee of Mt. Pisgah Church, his daughter Morning Scott, age 15 in 1860. These are definitely my forebears. Also John N. Thomason (or Thomaston ), wife Mary, son Robert, age 2 in 1860, I believe that one John R. 7-12-05 I'm trying to use the back door to locate information on a second wife to my 3G-grandfather, James Mauldin. James' first wife, Elmira Perry Mauldin is on the 1860 census. The second wife Mary is on the 1870 census.

There are no additional children in the household at this time. By 1880, there is a 15 yr. old Savanah Mauldin, listed as a daughter, in the house. I don't find her in subsequent census records or marriage records.

I find widowed Mary Mauldin in Spencer Lawson's home in 1900. She's listed as a sister-in-law. I found an indication of a marriage record on Edna's page for Spencer Lawson and Martha Haney in 1871. She would have been 26 then so I'm not sure if Haney is a maiden or married name.

Would like to contact anyone with information on Mary and Savannah Mauldin.

7-1-05 My name is Frances Burnett, I am from Athens, AL and I am searching for family records from Milton Co. The people I am looking for are Spencer and Martha Burnett, they lived in Milton in 1880 and Spencer served in the 42nd regiment of the Forsyth and Milton, GA. Spencer was born in South Carolina in 1843, Martha somewhere in Georgia in 1846. They were listed in the 1880 census as living in Old First, Milton Co. Georgia. They had eight children Robert (1867), William (1869), John (1871), Mary (1872), Amanda (1874), Harriett (1876), Frances (1878), and Hosahea ? (1879). 6-1-05 Searching for descendants of Alexander P. McPherson born about 1830 in SC. married Martha (maiden name unknown). Children were Zachary, Benjamin and William. He is listed a shoe maker in the 1860 MiIton Co. census. Also living next door were is brother (my ggg grandfather) Joel Pinkney McPherson with wife Mary Amanda and family. We have not been able to find any descendants of Alexander in our family research. We have found several McPherson listed in the census for Milton Co. in 1910 and 1930 that we cannot put with any one in our families. I am thinking that these may be descendants of Alexander. If they aren't we would still like to know where they fit in with our family. A lot of the names are buried in Warsaw Cemetery. The names mentioned in the 1930 census are G.G., Annie, Lydia, Effie, Wylen, Cloe, Ervin, Lenner, Desser, Pairlee, J. Elijah, Ada, Melvin, Hoke, Kate, Earnest, Charles, Edward. Gertrude, Joe, Lela. The 1910 census lists William L., Minnie, John A. W.A., Cora, Myrtle, Horace, Burran and Oris. Those listed in Warsaw Cemetery are Ada T., Angie L., Annie, Daisy A., Evelyn V., Gordon C., James M., Joe E., Leonard, Martha D., Marvin E., Rubin M., and William L. Anyone with info on who these McPherson's are descended from please contact me at MelJJ52@aol.com. Thank You Jerri McPherson-Jordan

5-2-05 VAUGHN-VAUGHAN I am R. C. Vaughan and have been researching Great-Grandfather John Vaughn. John was born in South Carolina in 1804. I have been able to locate him in Gwinnett Co., GA in the 1840 and 1850 census and in the Milton Co., GA census in 1860. In that 1860 census he is listed with his wife Caroline (Green) Vaughn born in South Carolina ABT 1817, with his sons/daughter:
Henry W. Vaughn born ABT 1837 in GA, : Died ABT 1864 as member of Co C, 42 GA Inft, CSA buried in Shady Grove (Shakerag) cemetery.
Robert G. Vaughn born ABT 1837 in GA.
John W, Vaughn born ABT 1841 in GA.
James M. Vaughn born ABT 1843 in GA.
Susan J Vaughn Born ABT 1847 in GA.
Joseph Cornelius Vaughn born 10 Feb 1856 in Shakerag(Sheltonville),Milton Co., GA, moved to Texas in 1877, died 20 July 1920 in Caddo Co., Oklahoma. He is my grandfather.
I have reason to believe that all the children except my grandfather had a different mother as the 1850 census list John without a wife. According to information passed down thru my father T. J. Vaughan, John Vaughn died before the Civil war began.
In the 1870 census John W. Vaughn is the only one I have found remaining of the family.
Anyone having information on the children of John Vaughn, on the ancestors of John Vaughn and or Caroline (Green) Vaughn please contact me at xarmycwo@cableone.net
Thank you in advance for your help.

4-18-05 I am seeking information on Lula Manning, Lula Manning Buice, Richard Buice, Mary Manning, Emmett Manning, Roy Strickland, or Rosa Lee Rogers who lived in Milton County from about 1900 through 1932 when the county became part of Fulton County. Some of these individuals and their families are buried in the Rogers Cemetery on Bell Road in Fulton County, but we have no burial site information on them. Bill Head Funeral Home in Duluth has conducted most of the recent burials in Rogers Cemetery, which has no address or contact information, and has no burial records prior to 2000. There are very few tombstones in this cemetery and some are unreadable. The cemetery also has not been maintained, with grass and weeds growing up and around it and old, dead flower arrangements strewn everywhere . madk320@yahoo.com

3-18-05 I have asked before, but I need to locate my ancestor who helped found the Providence church and cemetery. My Great GF is buried in the Providence cemetery and is my oldest relative there. I understand there is another Walker plot near a spot called “Walker Hill” that isn’t far from the Providence church where his father is buried. I went looking the other day and couldn’t find it and assume it is on private property. His name was Joseph Walker as well. Any help anyone can give me would be appreciated.

3-18-05 I have been working on the Rhodes family from Milton County, now Fulton County. My husband is the great-grandson of Mary Emma Rhodes of Milton/Fulton/Cherokee County Georgia and I was hoping that someone might know where some of this family are buried? She was the daughter of James William Rhodes (27 Jul 1842-23 Feb 1928) and Martha Elizabeth Williams Rhodes (25 Sep 1848-09 Mar 1920) (the daughter of Andrew & Elizabeth Phillips Williams). Martha Williams Rhodes was the 2nd wife of James W Rhodes, his 1st wife was Laura Johnston of Walton Co GA. Altogether, there were 11 children born of these 2 marriages.
Mary Emma Rhodes (03 Oct 1875 - 03 Jan 1904) was 1st married to William Mark Rudasill who died one year after they were married. They had one son born soon after his father's death. The young widow then married a widowed Baptist minister with 4 children, Rev. Robt Lafayette "Fate" Holbert. They had 3 children together but she died at the age of 28.
I cannot find where she nor any of her family of origin is buried. She is not buried by her 1st husband in the Hickory Flat Cemetery in Cherokee County, nor her 2nd husband in the Bethesda Baptist Church Cemetery, Pickens County so I was hoping that someone might know where some of the Rhodes of Milton/Fulton County are interred so that I might know where to begin looking.
Are there any cemetery books published that list burials in any of these counties - Milton or Fulton? I have purchased cemetery books for Cherokee and Walker County, so I know the Rhodes listed in these books.
I would appreciate any help or suggestions,
Betty Stanley Holbert

3-17-05 My name is Johnny Parks and I would like to correspond with any descendants/researchers of the Sylvester "Sam" F. Duncan and wife Martha "Cornelia" (Tyson) Duncan family. Their children were Willie T. Duncan(girl), Earlie Duncan (boy), Howard A. Duncan (boy), Edgar Duncan (boy), Robert Oran Duncan (boy), Lizzie Duncan (girl), Lillian Agustus (Gussie) Duncan (girl), Neva T. Duncan (girl), Gracie Duncan (girl). This family appears in the 1900-1930 censuses of Milton County, I think some of the children lived and married in Fulton County and some have moved to Florida. I have nice old 8x10 photo's of this family made around 1904-5 that I would like to place with the descendants of this family. My step-grandmother was Lillian Agustus (Gussie) Duncan who married Charlie Mac Clarke (MY GRANDFATHER) and in their belongings these pictures were found and I would like to place them with the descendants of this Duncan family. Please contact me at Jnyprk@aol.com

1-5-05 Leo William Little III
I am trying to contact Leo William Little III who may have some information concerning my family. He responded to to this E-mail that I sent on 06-14-02: I am searching for information on my great-grandmother Jennie Jones Hopkins. She was married to James Henry Hopkins (the son of William Henry Hopkins and Rachel Garmon) on June 01,1902. I have a copy of the marriage license issued in Milton County and they were married by W.H. Smith. My grandfather Irvin Christian Hopkins was born in 1904 and he never knew his mother. His father remarried in 1907, therefore we assume she died between 1904 and 1907. We have no information on the family of my great-grandmother and we are trying to find out where she is buried. Any information provided would be appreciated. If anyone has an E-mail address, telephone number, or mailing address where I could contact Mr. Little I would appreciate them E-mailing me at rohop@cox.net.

8-30-04 I am looking for information on the Waters line, I come from the same family line as a query poster and have her information, But I feel that there are some holes. Like missing children and middle names.

M: Elizabeth ? B: 1785 in South Carolina
Children
Roland L. B:1810

Hannah B:1813
John T B:1814
Larkin Toliver B:1821 (He in my 2nd Great Grand Father)

Robert and Larkin are shown in the 1850 Cherokee Co. district 15 Census
Larkin moved his family to the Placerville California area and died just before the 1860 census. His wife remarried and moved to Sevier county Utah.

5-13-04 I am descended from SELF, PITTS, GLOVER, BAGLEY, McWHORTER and FAGAN lines. My family were early settlers in the Milton Co., Forsyth Co. area. (They are listed on the 1880 and 1900 Milton Co. Census and 1910 1920 Forsyth Co. Census Records) My family lived on Stony Point Road from 1870 to 1970s. The land is still in the possession of cousins ('s). No one really knows of our line. They kept to themselves, and is rumored they made a lot of whiskey and operated a gold mine on the property (The STRICKLAND mine). My family is buried at Sharon Baptist Church, up on the hill to the right with the church at your back. It is the "Self" family plot. Some of our family is also buried at Pleasant View Church.
If anyone has info on these church or burial records or my line, please let me know. Thanks!

2-28-04 My name is James Woods, I live in Oklahoma. My great grandfather was Wiley Stone (re;1860 Milton Co. census) This family was a resident of the area from 1830 thru 1860, when they migrated to Al. He was living near the county line with Forsyth Co. He was for years a neighbor to the John Rogers Sr of that county, who was one of the very early white men who came to the area. He , John, married a Sarah Cordery a Cherokee Indian woman and they had 12 children. After her death around 1840, John married Wiley's sister in law, Charlotte Buckner,re: 1850 Forsyth census. Charlotte's mother lived with Charlotte and John Rogers until her death. John, when he died, willed his home place to Charlotte. "Lottie". Just before the war started, and after John died, Wiley, his sons and son in law Ben Wilson, along with Lottie all migrated to Blount Co. Al. During the war, all 4 of Wileys sons joined the confederacy, and all survived the war, all some kinds of injuries. I would like to trace the Buckner line,(Eleanor the mother, was born in Va, in 1777. I dont know who her husband was, I have researched all Buckners, but none fit. She did obtain a land allottment in 1834 as a widow. Lottie followed Wiley and her sister to Ar. and was living in their household in 1880. in Boone Co. If you run into any thing on this family, I would appreciate it. I have been in touch with Don Shadburn and Donna Parrish. Thanks James

2-9-04 Subject: Hampton and Mahalia Smith Family (1850-1910) Forsyth Old Milton Co's
I am seeking information about the Hampton Smith family who I feel is connected to my Thomas Harrison Smith family. Both families moved to the area where Cherokee, Lumpkin, Forsyth, Milton join together from SC in 1846. My Thomas and Hampton were near the same age. Hampton and my Thomas could be brothers.
The son of my Thomas, Amaziah Smith (b 1854) married Rose Etta Elliot, daughter of William Elliot of this same area. They named their son Hampton. My great grandfather William Joseph Smith, b 1852, lived most of his life in this same vicinity where Cherokee/ old Milton/Lumpkin/Forsyth Co's merge. Any information would be appreciated.

2-1-04 I am looking for information on the parents of Jesse Sanford Barnett. He was born on June 05, 1882 in GA. He married Cloe D Adams (born October 15, 1890 in GA). He died December 07, 1938 in Bolton, GA.

His death certificate states his father is Henry Lewis Barnett and mother is Susie Saddler. I can not find anthing on her.

I think his mother really was Sarah J Stephens as there is a marriage recorded in Milton Co. in 1875. This time fits.

A newspaper article accounts for Henry not showing up in later censuses. Atlanta Constitution newspaper article dated Augu. 30, 1888. "A fatal accident happened at B.W. Johns's sawmill near Warsaw, Milton County, last Monday. Mr. Henry Barnett, son of Mr. Nathan Barnett, was bearing off lumber from the saw, when the saw struck a plank in the hands of Mr. Barnett and jerked him so severly that he fell on the saw, which was running rapidly, cutting off his right arm and cutting three deep gashes across his breast. He lived about fifteen minutes after the accident."

You can respond on GenealogyGA.com forums.

12-6-03 I am looking for my great grandfather and grandmother. My grandfather James Paul Smih and Grandmother Carrie Lonette Vaughn are buried in Mt Pisgah cemetery so I think maybe William A Smith and Sarah F Powell Smith are buried ther also. Could not find on your online records. Although the date of death on your computer record is inaccurate. Death date should be 1986 and not 1886 on the cemetery records on line for Carrie Vaughn Smith.

Also looking for their parents which I believe to be Henry Smith B: 1817 M:abt 1835 D:1892 and his wife Elizabeth Madison B:1807 D:1892. I am unable to find any reliable information on them.

I am positive my grandfather and grandmother were born and raised in Milton county but later moved to Cobb County. I think my gggrandfather and gggrandmother were from Milton County also.

Any help would be appreciated!

10-20-03 Does any one know where the Crossville Post Office was located?
I am seeking any descendants of William S. Grogan, born July 1, 1813 in SC, and wife, Mary A. Burdett Grogan.
William and Mary would have been married in around 1840 when he was around 27 and she 15....
Their oldest child was born in 1841. W.S.Grogan was the adopted son of Thomas Grogan
( I think he was adopted in 1823). Thomas' first wife died and he re-married his daughter-in-law,
Mary's Mother, the widow, Deborah M. Burdett. They married on 12/15/1845 in DeKalb County, GA....
I want to know if anyone has record of William and Mary's wedding, when and where, and also who Mary's father is....
Thomas' death in 1847, Deborah lives with William S. and Mary thru Census records. Both William S. and
Mary A. Grogan left Pension applications in Milton County. I am related thru William S. and Mary A. Burdett Grogan
through their daughter, Mary Zedora Grogan who married Benjamin Harvey Bishop in Milton County in 1874.
Their oldest child, William Norman Bishop, born in 1875 is my Great Great Grandfather.
Thanks for any and all help!

2-14-02 I am looking for information about the John M. Rainey Family. They show in 1880 Dekalb County Census. But I have seen some Raineys also in Milton County. After 1880 they are not in Dekalb County anymore. Thought maybe they could have moved into Milton county as it was close to the area where they lived.

My Grandmother was Eula Mae Rainey who married Robert F. Adams. I can find nothing about her family. I know she had a sister, Della Rainey, who married Arthur Brown. If anyone can help please contact me.
Thanks, Rosemary Adams Little

12-1-01 I am looking for information on Lucy and Martha (Mattie) Buice/Bice. I believe they were sisters. Records show a Lucy Buice/Bice marriage to a Jabez Jones in Milton County in 1867 and a Martha Buice marriage to a Jabez Jones in Milton County in 1870. My great great grandmother was Lelar Jones Tatum. She was born in Nov 1868. She died in 1961. Her death certificate says her parents were Jabe/Jabez and Mattie Jones. She was born two years before her parents were married. This leads me to believe that her mother may have actually been Lucy Buice Jones and perhaps Lucy died and Jabez then married Mattie Buice who raised Lelar as her own. Can anyone help me with information that may help me with this mystery. Thanks--Tom Tatum. Email Tatumzoo@earthlink.net

My grandfather was the youngest child and only son. He had several sisters. I only remember the names of two of his sisters. There was Flora, married name Hillyer(not sure of spelling) and Anna, married name Black. My grandfather lived all of his adult life in and round the East Point, Fulton Co. area. In 1917 he married Bertie Lee Byrd. They had seven children, Rosalee, Albert, Roy, Hubert, Mary, Grace and Gene. My grandparents are buried in College Park Cemetary, College Park, Fulton Co., GA. 5-6-01 I am searching for information about the Thomas A Byrd line from Milton Co (now Fulton) Georgia. DOB Nov 28, 1854 and DOD 25 March 1941. I believe I have found him on the 1860 Milton Co census with the spelling of Bird-he was 6 years old. If so, his father is Robert and mother is Nancy. If anyone has information which would allow this to be confirmed,as well as other info about Robert or Nancy, I would appreciate it. None of the family is listed on 1870 census, but some are with the Byrd spelling in 1880. It looks like a couple of sons were lost to civil war, but it seems odd that the whole family would disappear. Any thought or information?

4-3-01 Researching the Holcomb or Holcombe, and Bates families that lived in old Milton County 1860 through 1880's. In their advanced age Joshua L. and wife Malinda Gooch Holcomb are believed to have left Rabun Co., GA to live with some of their children in Milton Co. after 1860. Cherokee Application # 17775, of son James A. (Sylvester) Holcomb lists his father's death as 4 Oct 1881 near Atlanta. Application # 7189 lists Joshua's death as 1872 in Milton Co. (Joshua's maternal grandfather was full blood Cherokee Isaac Nicholson, form present day Monroe County, TN.)

Josh and Malinda Holcomb's adult son Henry is found with family in the 1860 & 1870 Milton census. In 1880 we find living in the Bates household, 15 year old sister (in-law?) M. A. Holcomb, and 9 year old niece Marinda Holcomb.

The Holcomb family had 3 sons that married Bates sisters, and one Holcomb daughter that married a Bates brother. Edward McDonald Holcomb married Susannah Bates and they were associated with Hopewell Baptist Church, Milton, 1857-59. I am guessing that Joshua and Malinda lived with them. ?

Any information about the Bates, Holcomb families or Hopewell Baptist Church will be most appreciated. Contact me directly: May God bless your family, Sandy Reid

3-28-01 Hi: I am a volunteer at Newton Co. Public Library and I am assisting a patron who lives in Mass. with her family's Georgia Genealogy. I have run into a problem.

I am wondering if you know if the Jackson Langley, 43, wife Mary, 56 in the 1860 Milton County census is the same Jackson Langley, wife Mary, who was a Private in the CSA who died at Lauderdale, Ms. May 17, 1863, Co. C -42 Regiment, Forsyth and Milton Co. Ga. Milton Tigers???

I know that is a tall order but it would help me to clarify if this is the Jackson Langley I am searching for. There is another Jackson Langley, much younger, wife Mary Ann in the Lumpkin County census for 1860 also.

I tend to think the Milton Census Jackson Langley is the same person as the Jackson Langley who is killed in Miss. as I can not find him again. Right or wrong? You have more Milton Co. material than I as I have only the internet.

Thank you so very much. I appreciate your help.Jane Williams

9-8-00 I would like to find an obituary from a newspaper regarding my ggg grandmother, Delilah Rollins Smith. She died in Oct. 1891 in the Lickskillet district of Cherokee Co. Before moving to Cherokee Co, her family had lived in Milton Co. Would like to know the names of any newspapers that might have been in print for the area, for that time period. Anyone have any ideas? Thank you. Betty Mitchell
9-8-00 My name is Richard Leard. I am searching for information on VAUGHAN/VAUGHN in Milton Co. My ancestors there include Clairborn VAUGHAN, his son, John VAUGHAN, and other siblings. John VAUGHN apparently died in Milton Co., before abt. 1865. His widow and some children moved to Wood County, TX. John VAUGHN married Martha "Patsy" WIGGINS in Forsyth Co., GA in 1848. Will share information on these families.
9-3-00 I am looking for information on Burdett/Chafin families in Milton Co., GA. My G-GM was Iris Maude Chafin (b. 12/18/1890 in Milton Co.) and my G-GF was John Calhoun Burdett (b. 3/17/1882 in Milton Co.) I know nothing definate about their parents, and while I have been able to find both Chafin and Burdett on the census listings on your site, I'm missing a link between these generations. I do know that my G-GM had a sister named Suzy Brown who had several children and a brother named Luther. My G-GF had a number of siblings including Humphrey, Homer and Jerry. His father may have been named Daniel Burdett. If anyone can help with this information, please e-mail me at saabist@earthlink.net . Thanks in advance!
6-20-00 I am searching for information on my great-grandmother Jennie Jones Hopkins. Royce Hopkins

I live on Hopewell Road on what is called the "Old Maschek (pronounced MAYSHACK) Redd" place. I would like to find out any information about the Redd family and the old homeplace. I am told that our driveway was once a road that connected Hopewell and Thompson and that what was once our tool shed was actually an old country feed store. All of the buildings on the property except one small one-room house are now gone, but I would love to know more about the place. Thank you.

Hi. I'm looking for any information about James H. PEDEN, who was living in Milton County in 1860.
James was born about 1828 in GA, then lived in MS until about 1852, when he apparently moved to Milton County. He is listed on the 1860 census (spelled Paydin) with wife, Elizabeth, and children Mary, b abt 1850, Saminamis Zenobia, b abt 1852, and Aurelius Constantine, b abt 1854. I think, but am not at all sure, that James may have married Elizabeth E. ? in GA, possibly Milton County, sometime between 1854 and 1860, and he may have a first wife buried there.
By 1869, James and his family had moved to Tallahatchie County, MS.
I would very much appreciate any information about James PEDEN and his family.

4-4-00 - Since Milton County was not formed until 1857, James PEDEN probably resided in another county that was annexed into Milton. Is there any way to tell from this census entry what county that might have been?

Also, can anyone tell me where the nearest Presbyterian Church would have been during the period 1852-1867 and whether there are surviving records from that time?
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I doing some basic research for a good friend of mine that may have his family roots in Milton County Georgia. All I have at this time is the name of his father: William Delbert Webb, born 1903. I have researched your web site, and was very impressed. Your census pages were very helpful, but do you have any info that would enable me to tie the W.D. Webb I mentioned above to one of the Webb families from your community? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

2-8-00 - Ron Self
I am descended from SELF, PITTS, GLOVER, BAGLEY, McWHORTER and FAGAN lines. My family were early settlers in the Milton Co., Forsyth Co. area.
(They are listed on the 1880 Milton Co. Census and 1910 1920 Forsyth Co. Census Records)
My family lived on Stony Point Road from 1870 to 1970s.
Thanks!

I'm trying to give my father a christmas gift. I'm trying to research any family info for Daniel L Beaty and wife Margaret Rhodes-Beaty. I have tracked them to "some GA county records Vol.6" page 162 Cherokee county GA marriages under Daniel L Bailey and Margaret Rhodes married 5/25/1848. But I do not have any info before they were married or any of their parents names or histories. I have a good guess that one Moses Beaty(Mosey Batey in 1850 Census) might be Daniel L's father. But I have no actual proof to that. And I cannot find any documents prior to 1850 Census that locates Daniel L or Moses Beaty or any other spellings. Examples are;1850 census:Mosey Batey and Daniel L Baty;1860 census:Daniel L Batie and Moses Batie. I have seen listings such as: Beaty; Beatie; Beatty; Batey; Baty; Beattie; Batly; Baity; Baitie; Batson; etc. Any and all help will be much appreciated by myself and my family. We have spent many years just to get this far. Thank you,Sean S Beaty

Hello, I am interested in the Rogers family. My relative is from Jackson Co., GA (Temperance Rogers whom mar. James Pettyjohn) parents of Sarah A. Pettyjohn whom mar. Milford Gray (they lived in Forsyth Co on the county line that divided Milton and Forsyth) Temperance father is John Rogers brother of Enoch Rogers and they are the sons of Jacob Rogers. Are the Rogers in Milton Co related to the Rogers of Jackson Co. My Grand mother Maude Grace DeVore Gray had an Aunt Frances Anne DeVore whom Mar. John William Rogers they are bur. at Cross Plains, my grand mother told my father that this John W. Rogers was related to Will Rogers (some kind of cousin) Will Rogers grandfather was a twin and the twin was the grand father of John W. Rogers. I have heard that the families were not related but they used alot of the same names. If you know of anyone that is doing family research please give me there e-mail address.

I am looking for descendants of Sion Lawson who was listed in the 1860 Milton County Census. He was married to Caroline Brumbelow in 1843 in Forsyth County. They were in Forsyth County in 1850. The two of them disappear after the war. Their children include, Catherine Elizabeth ran away with James Cobb to Alabama, Spencer who is still in the area in 1880, Nancy, and Emeline who married John Christopher, still in the 1880 census. Sion was married to a probable Elizabeth before Caroline. They had William, Reuben, (killed in the war), Lecil, Mary and maybe others. Also would like information on the Jacob Lawson listed in the 1880 census. Thank you.

On the 1860 Census a Cyntha Patterson (age 32) is listed and I assume she is married to George Patterson (age 37) (stage driver)
On the 1870 Census a Syntha Patison (age 49) is listed by her self. Could this possibly be the same person? And if so, do you show who the parents of George Patterson may be?
Thanks, Ernie
