Whereupon it is considered by the Court that J. R. Lamb, the plaintiff, do recover of John J.
Stewart & William P. Brown the defendants the sum of three hundred and fifty five dollars for his
principal debt and the sum of twenty nine dollars and fifty one cents for his interest and the further
sum of eleven dollars and 25 cents for his cost in this behalf laid out and expended and the
defendants in money &C. Judgement signed this 7th Feby 1859

It appearing to the Court that the intire cost on the within case has not been paid and it further

It appearing to the court that a CaSa was duly issued by Thomas Collins, a Justice of the Peace of
said County on the 10th day of June 1857 in favor of Newton McDill and against James C. Harris
for the principal sum of thirty dollars with interest thereon from 1st of June 1853 and the further
sum of $ 187 1/2 cts costs of such and the said James C. Harris was duly arrested under the same
by Joseph L. Stewart a lawful Constable of said County and bond taken in terms of the law for the
appearance of the said James C. Harris at the present term of the Court in the ***enal sum of fifty
dollars in which the said J. C. Harris is principal and and Erwin Trammel and M. *. Harris
securities conditioned that the said J. C. Harris stands to and abide by the proceedings had by this
Court upon his application to take the benefit of an act for the relief of honest debtors and the said
Jas C. Harris having been duly called at the Court House door in open Court appear and answer
the conditions of said bond and the said Erwin Trammel and M. *. Harris having been duly called
to produce the body of the said Jas C. Harris and neither of said parties having complied with the
allegations of said bond it is ordered & adjudged by the Court that the said bond be and it is
hereby declared duly forfeited and F. M. Cowen, atty for the plaintiff

CaSa &C in Milton Inferior Court Sept Term 1859.
It appearing to the Court that a CaSa was duly issued by William C. Tribble a Justice of the Peace
for said County on the tenth day of July 1858 in favor of Givings W. Arnold and against E. S.
Fowler for the principal sum of twelve dollars & twenty four cents with interest from the day
of 18 and the further sum of 700 dollars & 75 cts costs and that the said E. S. Fowler was duly
arrested by A. J. Alexander, a Constable for said County on the 28th of Oct 1858 and that the said
Fowler gave bond for his appearance at this Term of the Court in the ***enal sum of twenty four
dollars & 48 cts in which the said E. S. Fowler is principal, William S. Fowler is security
conditioned that the said E. S. Fowler should stand to and divide to the proceedings had by this
Court upon his application to take the benefit of an act for the relief of honest debtors and the said
E. S. Fowler having been duly called at the Court House door in open Court to appear & answer
the conditions of said bond and the said William A. Fowler having been duly called to produce the
body of the said E. S. Fowler and neither of the parties having complied with the obligations of
said bond, it is ordered and adjudged by the Court that the said bond be and is hereby declared

to the statute in such case made & provided and brings Thomas J. Harris & tenders him as

in said case.

It appearing to the Court that a Casa was duly issued by Robert Webb a Justice of the Peace in
and for said County on the 22nd day of January 1858 in favor of Thomas W. Bryan and against
Wesley L. Ford for the principal sum of five dollars principal besides interest and the further sum
of _dollars and _cents cost of suit and that the said Wesley L. Ford was duly arrested under said
Casa &C by James A. Stewart a lawful Constable os said County and bond taken in terms of the
law for the appearance of the said Wesley L. Ford at the **** term of Cobb Inferior Court 1858
and to continue to appear at said Court until discharged by law (which said case has since been
transfered to this Court according to law in the penal sum of ten dollars in which bond Wesley L.
Ford is principal and William A. Fowler and Nancy Ford securities conditioned for the
appearance of said Ford at said Court in manner and form aforesaid and take the benefit of the act
for the relief of honest debtors, and the said Wesley L. Ford being duly called at the Courthouse
door this day by the sheriff of said and failed to appear and answer the conditions of said bond
and the said securities aforesaid having also been called and failed to produce the body of the said
Wesley L. Ford it is therefore ordered by the Court that the said bond be and the same is hereby
forfeited declared to be duly forfeited and the Francis M. Cowen atty for plff have leave to sign

I, Spencer Losson do solemnly swear in the presence of Almighty God that I am not possessed of
any real or personal property, debts, credits of effects securities or contracts whatsoever other than
are contained in the schedule now delivered and that I have not directly or indirectly since my
imprisonment or before sold, leased, assigned or other otherwise disposed or made over in trust
for myself or otherwise any part of my land, estate, goods, stock, money, debts, credits or effects,
securities or contracts whereby any money may hereafter become payable, or any real or personal
estate whereby to have or expect any benefit or profit to myself, my wife or my heirs, so help me
God. Sworn to and subscribed in open Court March 10th 1860.

Order for discharge of Lossen Milton Inferior called March 13th 1860. Spencer Losson having
filed a full and fair schedule of his debts and having notified the following persons as his creditors
under the act for the relief of honest debtors, to wit: Mark Fowler, Agt, for Dr Jas M. Howell,
plaiintiff in CaSa and having appeared in open Court and taken the oath prescribed by statute, it is
ordered that the said Spencer Losson be discharged from arrest & set at liberty without prejudice
to his securities as provided by law.

C., and bond taken in terms of the law for the appearance of the said Mann at this term
of the Court in the penal sum of sixty dollars in which the said Elias D. Mann is principal and
Bryant Shaw security conditioned that the said Mann should stand too abide and perform the
proceedings had by said Court relative to his taking the benefit of the act of the relief of the act of
honest debtors and the said E. D. Mann having been duly called at the Court House door to appear
and answer the conditions of said bond and the said Bryant Shaw having been duly called to
appear and produce the body of the said Mann as he had agreed to do, and the said E. D. Mann

It appearing the Court J. C. Johnston, one of the securities on this bond having this day delivered
the body of L. H. Jones, the defendant, in open Court, it is ordered by the Court that the securities
be and they are hereby exonerated from all liability on this bond. Sept 3rd 1860.
Whereas heretofore to wit on the 7th day of Aprile 1860, L. H. Jones arrested by Green B.
Grogan, L. C. at the suit of Elisha Chamblee on a CaSa *** for the sum of twenty five dollars
principle besides interest and whereas said Jones gave bond for his appearance here at this Term
of the Court with John G. Johnston & John W. Howell as securities conditioned on his apearance
here at this Court to take the benefit of an act for the relief of honest debtors and whereas said
securities have this day delivered said Jones in open Court and prayed to be discharged from said
bond and whereas said Jones has failed to comply with the terms of the law in relation to his
discharge by giving notice to the plaintiff and filing his schedule and taking the oath required by
the statutes, it is ordered by the Court that he be taken in custody by the Sheriff of said County

CaSa &C Bond forfeited September Term 1861 in Milton Inferior Court. It appearing to the court
that a CaSa was duly issued by Thomas Collins a Justice of the Peace for said County on the
eleventh day of August 1861 in favor of J. J. Stewart and against Newton Brumbalow for the
principal sum of eight dollars and eighty three cents with interest from the twentieth day of
February 1858 and the further sum of 11 dollars & 65 cents cost and that the said Newton
Brumbalow was duly arrested by B. F. Carr, a Constable for said Gwinnett County on the 24th day
of June 1861 and that the said Brumbelow give bond for his appearance at this Term of the Court
in the penal sum of seventeen dollars & sixty cents in which the said Newton Brumbalow is
principal and John Q. Massey is security conditioned that the said Newton Brumbelow should
stand to and abide by the proceedings had by this Court upon his application to take the benefit of
an act for the relief of honest debtors and the said Newton Brumbelow having been duly called to
produce the body of the Newton Brumbelow and neither of the parties having complied with the
obligations of said bond, it is ordered and adjudged by the Court that the said bond be and it is
hereby declared duly forfeited and that F. M. Cowen, plff atty have leave to sign up judgment on
said bond in terms of the law.
Wherefore it is ordered and adjudged that the plaintiff do recover of the defendant the sum of

In Milton Inferior court Sept Term 1861. It appearing to the Court that a CaSa was duly issued
by M. J. Seale a Justice of the Peace for said County on the 4th day December 1860 in favor of F.
M. Cowen & against James H. Pettit for the principal sum of eleven dollars with interest from the
83 cents the further sum of eleven 65/100 dollars costs and that said James H. Pettit was duly
arrested by James M. Dodd, L. C. on the 4th of June 1861, and that the said James H. Pettit gave
bond for his appearance at this Term of of the Court in the penal sum of eleven dollars in which
the said James H. Pettit is principal and Daniel Pettit & Isaih Beshears & T. J. P. Reavis securities
conditioned that the said James H. Pettit should stand to and abide by the proceedings of this
Court upon his application to take the benefit of an act for the relief of honest debtors and the said
James H. Pettit having been duly called at the Court House door in open Court to appear and
answer the conditions of said bond and the said Daniel Pettit, Isaah Beshears, T. J. P. Reavis and
the same James H. Pettit having been duly called to produce the body of the James H. Pettit &
neither of the parties having complied with the obligation of said bond it is ordered and adjudged
by the Court that the said bond be and it is hereby declared duly forfeited and that F. M. Cowen,
Plaintiff attorney have leave to sign up judgment on said bond in terms of the law. For judgment

ourselves, our heirs, executors and administrators jointly and severally, firmly by these presents
sealed with our seals and dated this twenty seventh day of March eighteen hundred and sixty six.
The condition of said bound is such that whereas the above bound William H. Nesbit was on the
third day of January 1866 was duly and legally elected clerk of the Superior Court in and of said
County of Milton in said state for the term of two years.
Now should the said William H. Nesbit faithfully discharge the duties of the said office of Clerk
of the Superior Court in and for said County during the time he continues therein or discharges
any of the duties thereof then the above bond to be void else to be of full force. this 27th day of
March 1866.

discharge all and singular the duties required of him in virtue of his said office of Tax Collector or
aforesaid during the time he continues therein or discharges any of the duties thereof then the
above obligation to be void or otherwise to remain in full force and virtue. Attested and aproved

State for the time being and his successors in office in the sum of five hundred dollars; to be paid

which payment well and truly to be made and done. We bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and

above bound George Fowler was on the third day of January 1866 elected coroner for the County
of Milton County in said state now the condition of the above obligation is such that if the said
George Fowler shall faithfully discharge all and singular the duties required of him in virtue of
said office of Coroner of the County of Milton as aforesaid according to law and trust reposed in
him this the above obligation to be void otherwise to remain in full force and force and virtue.

faithfully discharge all and singular the duties required of him in virtue of his said office of Tax
Returns as aforesaid during the time he continues therein or discharges any of the duties thereof

time being and there successors in office in the sum of two thousand dollars to the payment of
which well and truly to be made. We bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and administrators
jointly and severally firmly by these presents sealed with out seals and dated this 3rd day of April
eighteen hundred and sixty six the condition of the above bond is such that whereas the above
bound Simeon L. Rucker was on the third day of January 1866 duly elected County Treasurer of
said County now is the said Simeon L. Rucker shall faithfully discharge all the duties of said
office of County Treasurer of said County during the time he continues therein or discharged any
of the duties thereof then the above obligation to be void, otherwise to remain in full force and

Inferior Court of Milton County letting for County Purposes August Term 1866.
Upon the application for that purpose of Jackson Graham and Selina Waits to this Court it is
ordered by the Court that said Jackson Graham and Selina Waits be and they are hereby
authorized and empowered to open, establish at there own expense and keep a ferry across the
Chattahoochee River to be landed on the land of the said Graham on the west bank of said River
in Milton County and on the land of the said Salina Waits on the opposite bank of said River in
Gwinnett County at or near the place on said River where the publick road leading from Cumming
in Forsyth County to the city of Atlanta in Fulton County in said State crosses said Chattahoochee
River for the transportation of persons, property vehicles, live stocks, across said River and it is
further ordered that the said Jackson Graham and Salina Waits be and they are hereby authorized
to charge, collect and receive toll and compensation for such transportation at said Ferry this
August 7th 1866.

September Term 1866 to the Hon Justices of the Inferior Court of Milton County setting for
County purposes the petition of John W. Nesbit and C. N. Woodall of the County of Milton in
said State respectfully showeth that they are the owners of the land on each side of the
Chattahoochee River at the point where the publick road leading from Alpharetta in Milton
County to the City of Atlanta in Fulton County in said State crosses said River the petitioners John
W. Nesbit being the owner of said land on the west back of said River in the County of Milton
and to the center of said River and the petitioner C. N. Woodall being the owner of the land at
said place on the oposite bank & to the center of said River said petitioners being desirous of
establishing running and keeping open a publick ferry across said River to be landed on the land
of said Nesbit on the west bank of said River in Milton County and on the land of the said
Woodall on the oposite bank of said River in the County of Milton at the place on said River
herein before mentioned for the accommodation of the publick and for profit and pay to
themselves humbly petition this honorable Court to grant to them an order for that purpose
authorizing them to establish & keep open a ferry across said River at the place aforesaid on there
own land for the transportation of persons, property, vehickles, stock, &C. across said River and
charge, collect & receive toll and pay therefore and your petitioners will every pray &C. Septm
26th 1866

1866 Deputy Sheriff's Bond
Know men by these presents that we Giles F. Mayfield as principal, J. W. Nesbit and Alfred H.
Teasley as securities all of said County are held and firmly bound unto Ransom M. Autry, Sheriff
of said County in the just and full sum of five thousand dollars for the true payment of which we
bind ourselves, our heirs, executors, administrators jointly and severally, firmly by these presents
sealed with our seals and dated this February 6th 1856.
The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas the Ransom M. Autrey, Sheriff of said
County has this day appointed the said Giles F. Mayfield his Deputy now should the said Giles F.
Mayfield well and truly do and perform faithfully his duty as Deputy Sheriff of said County
faithfully execute all writs, warrants, precepts and processes directed to the Sheriff of said County
which may come into hands and true returns make and in all things well and truly and without
malice or partiality perform the duties of Deputy Sheriff of said County during his continuance in
office and take only the fees allowed by law and perform all and singular the duties required of
him as Deputy Sheriff as aforesaid then this obligation to be void else of full force and virtue &C.

judgments and other proceedings of the Inferior Court of Milton County and all other matters and
things which by law ought by me to be recorded and that I will faithfully and impartially discharge
and perform all the duties required of me to the best of my understanding. So Help Me God. I do
further swear that I am not the holder of any public money due this State unaccounted for that I
am not the holder of any office or trust under the government of the United States nor either of the
several states nor of any foreign state and that I am otherwise qualified to hold said office
according to the Constitution and laws of Georgia and that I will surport the Constitution of the
United States and of this State so Help Me God.

being and there successors in office in the sum of two thousand dollars to the payment of which
well and truly to be made we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and administrators jointly and
severally firmly by these presents sealed with our seals and dated dated this 5th day of February
eight hundred and sixty seven. The condition of the above bond is such that whereas the above
bound Simeon L. Rucker was on the 2nd day of January 1867 duly elected County Treasurer of
said County now if the said Simeon L. Rucker shall faithfully discharge all the duties of such
office of County Treasurer of said County during the time he can continues therein or discharges
any part of the duties thereof the then the above obligation to be void otherwise to remain in full
force and virtue. Attested and approved by us this fifth day of Febry 1867.

George W. Chambers and John Grimes as securities are held and firmly bound unto the Justices of
the Inferior Court of said County in the sum of five hundred (dollars) and sixty two and a half
dollars for the true payment of which we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and administrators
firmly by these presents the condition of the above obligation is such that whereas the said James
A. Stewart has this day bargained with the said Inferior Court to erect a bridge across Big Creek
at Lebanon Mills in said County and to keep said bridge up for the space of five years now if the
said James A. Stewart shall faithfully perform the contract aforesaid with the said Inferior Court
this obligation to be void, else of full force and effect. Sign, sealed and delivered this 4th
December 1866.

Coroner of the County of Milton in this State, and will faithfully and truly execute all writs and
precepts to me directed, or which I may lawfully execute, when placed in my charge and return

knowingly use or exercise my office illegally, corruptly or unjustly, and that I will not under
pretense, take, accept or enjoy, any favor, reward pertaining to my office other than such as are
allowed by law. But that I will in all things touching the duties of my office, demean myself
honestly, fairly & impartially according to the best of my ability, so help me God. I do further
swear that I am not the holder of any public money due this state unaccounted for, that I am not
the holder of office or trust under the Government of the United States nor either of the several
states nor of any foreign state, and that I am otherwise qualified to hold said office according the

1868 delivered of a male bastard child in said County and which was likely to become chargeable

father of said child and has since that time settled the case with Cobb. Now should the said
Catharine Lawson from time to time, and at all times hereafter educated and maintain said male
bastard child until he shall reach the age of fourteen years then this bond to be void else of full
