The Deep South Chapter of the Family Motor Coach Association was chartered in June 1976, and is one of many chapters in the Southeast Area. The Southeast Area is comprised of Alabama, Florida, Georgia and Mississippi. Only individuals who are active members of the Family Motor Coach Association (FMCA) are eligible for regular chapter membership. While we started as members mostly from Alabama, we now have members from most other southeastern states. The Deep South Chapter is a social and recreational club with a common bond of fellowship and motor homing. The scheduled club motor home rally is the primary social and recreational event. The Deep South Chapter hosts six rallies a year in the months of February, April, June, August, October and December. Chapter rallies are hosted by a Wagon Master and one or more Co-Wagon Masters. Members are encouraged to volunteer as Wagon Masters. Volunteers are given their choice of rallies to host based on availability of open rally dates. The future life of the Chapter depends in part on recruitment of new members. The Chapter Second Vice President is responsible for administering the recruitment process. Prospective members may come as guests of a regular member to one or more rallies. The Club may vote on acceptance of the prospective new members at when they attend a second rally and apply for membership. The Deep South Chapter welcomes and encourages commercial memberships. We are fortunate to have several area RV dealers and manufacturers who are currently members and who have made contributions in both time and money to support chapter rally activities. Anyone interested in learning more about our club or visiting our rallies are encouraged to contact our president, Frank Milner at 334-271-6270 or Milnerjh@aol.com |
