The Imperial Japanese Navy battleship Kirishima rolled over and sank to the bottom of Iron Bottom Sound in the second battle of Guadalcanal.  Some fifty years later it was photographed by the deep diving three-man submarine Sea Cliff, working with the remotely operated vehicle Scorpio.  The stern section is shown above as the bow had broken off at a point approximately under the forward superstructure.
