Less than a second to death for this kamikaze pilot and many of those shown in the picture.  Being attacked is the new battleship USS Missouri in the Battle of Okinawa.  The battleship survived the attack with minor damage and gave the kamikaze pilot a proper military funeral the following day.  The pilot had been blown clear of the explosion and his body landed in tarpaulins which kept his
