2009 Block Challenge

"METAMORPHOUS THIS "

The block challenge has become a tradition at the Rescue Mission.  The theme of this year's challenge is "Metamorphous This". Let the fabric stimulate your imagination. Here are a few guidelines:

1.         Use a recognizable amount of the challenge fabric.

2.         The block can be appliquéd or pieced.

3.         You may submit two blocks, but only one appliquéd and only one pieced.

4.         Add as many other fabrics as you like, but you can use only as much of the challenge fabric as is provided in your packet.  (Remember rule #1)

5.         Blocks must finish 12” square; that is 12½” raw edge to raw edge.  (Press and measure your block to be sure it is the correct size.)

6.         Winners will be decided by our vendors.  (1^st and 2^nd place will be awarded in each category.  3^rd and 4^th place will be awarded if there are enough blocks.  After the winners are determined the blocks will be divided and presented to the winners, the number depending on the number of blocks entered.)

7.         Have fun and enjoy the process!!

8.         Bring your block (s) to the retreat and you will be instructed as to where to turn it in.
