Text Box: Many of our guests know and have previously visited Miami, however there is more to Miami than the beach, South Beach and shopping! Here are a list of alternate activities that you might enjoy during your visit to Miami for our wedding:

SUGGESTED RESTAURAUNTS:

Versailles
This Cuban institution is a must stop for anyone visiting Miami. Everyone from the Pope to all the recent Presidents have stopped by to try the arroz con pollo (carefull it can feed 2 or 3!), croqueta preparadas, medianoche and the café con leche. It is deep in the heart of Miami Cuban Territory right on Calle 8 in Little Havana!

ACTIVITIES:

Maximo Gomez Domino Park
(Corner of 8th street and 15th Ave)
After having lunch at Versailles you can go down a couple of blocks on 8th Street and stop by to see all the Cuban ’older generation’ (over 65!) playing dominoes, smoking cigars and talking about how things used to be in Cuba

La Gloria Cubana Factory
8th street and 12 Ave SW
For those who enjoy a good cigar, this cigar factory creates one of this town’s best cigars. You can stop by and see how they hand-roll cigars and learn more about the history of Cuban Cigars.

Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, Chihuly Exhibit
Fairchild Tropical botanical Garden has one of the worlds most extensive collections of rare tropical plants. Until May of this year, Fairchild’s beautiful scenery has been intensified with Dale Chihuly’s wonderfully vibrantly colored large glass sculptures.
Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors and $10 for children, available at https://www.ftg.org/Chihuly/ticket.html

Everglades National Park
For an interesting day trip, you can drive west to the Everglades…. where you can see alligator wrestling (eat them too!), ride air boats, and even go gambling at the Miccosukee Casino!

CIRQUE DU SOLEIL
For those Cirque du Soleil fans (and thos who have never been to a Cirque performance) the weekend of the wedding there is a special Cirque performance in Fort Lauderdale… a short 30-40 minute drive from Miami. DELIRIUM, a live music event that pushes the limits of arena performances.  Feel the passion fo the musicians, singers and dancers driven by the beat of the remixed music from Cirque du Soleil.
