Terminology: Need some clarification on a certain term you see here? The explanation is right here. Coverage: The listings within this site cover all AM, FM and TV stations within the state of Alabama. There are also some special sections: Birmingham - Lists any station that puts a decent signal into the metropolitan area. Mobile - Lists stations all along the Gulf Coast: the Mobile-Pensacola and Biloxi markets are included, as are some other stations which put a signal into all or parts of the coastal area. Columbus - Lists most stations that put a good signal into the area, which includes Phenix City, Alabama. Digital TV - A listing of television stations currently known to be broadcasting a digital signal. New DTV stations can actually broadcast multiple feeds within one "channel", allowing them to offer more programming choices for viewers. They can also offer high definition programming in a 16:9 widescreen format similar to a movie theater screen's aspect radio. RDS Stations -A listing of the many FM stations that can be received in the state of Alabama which provide an Radio Data System (RDS) signal. The signal can provide your radio with the correct time, station format, station ID, and additional scrolling text. Media Links - Various links to sites that help you find information about radio and TV stations; includes links to the official FCC search pages. |
