Great Hall of Fluff
|
|
| Here they are folks - great fluffs that we know, listed alphabetically. Several have included a quote on what they like the most about being fluffy. (If you know a fluff who would like to be included, just email me at chrisandheidi@bellsouth.net.) This list includes all sorts of famous fluffs - check out Christopher - employed as a full-time hearing dog, and Barney the corgihuahua, chairman of the Flufftopian National! We even have a few Cardigan fluffies! A rainbow owners: Jim and Elizabeth Graves, Rowley, MA I have had lots of dogs in my day and there is truly no dog like a Corgi. She likes to play soccer and basketball and herding the neighborhood children. owner: Keri, South Daytona, Florida I have recently been "claimed" by a "fluffy" named Ace. Ace is now 11 weeks old and is a red headed tri! I never knew how cute Fluffies could be!! I love getting the "Oh my! That's Corgi! He's SO FLUFFY AND CUTE!".... Oh, and Ace loves it too!! :) I have attached a photo of Ace if you'd like to see him! This photo was at 9 weeks old..... owner: Suzanne Crawshaw, Georgia Barkday - July 1995 " I stop traffic, I'm so handsome!!"
I spent the first year of my life tied to a tree
in Indiana. Then the nice people from Corgi Rescue got me. I was supposed to
go to Unca Steve's in SC, but when I got to Troy, OH, this lady wanted to put
me in a CRATE!! I ddn't wanna, so I bit her! Ummm....bad idea!! She grabbed me
by the neck, so I bit down a little harder, but she just squeezed my neck
harder. I decided to let go and go in that crate thing!! After she quit
bleeding all over my Fluff, she said she "wouldn't inflict me on poor Unca
Steve". So now I live in K'tucky with 3 other corgis, 5 greyhounds, and
whatever else Mumlady has brought home....Beagles, GSD's, Spitz'...you name
it! I like all of them except for that Junior Corgi....he keeps trying to
pluck all my Fluff, so I'll be boring like him!!

Owner Robin Sarno Stuart, Fl
When I was 4 years old my first Mom got too sick to take care of me so I came
to live with Robin, her husband and their 4 Retrievers. I weighed 40 lbs. (Oh
MY!!) and I wasn't allowed to have a lot of cookies. But then I assigned
myself the very important job of herding all the Retrievers, which was a lot
of work in a big yard, and I started losing weight. Then I learned to swim in
the pool with the other dogs, and I lost even more weight!! Pretty soon Robin
started letting me play on the Agility Equipment in our yard, and before
I knew it I weighed 22lbs!! After a while I was allowed to go to Agility
Trials with Robin and my Labrador "sister". Now I have six AKC agility
titles ( and I'm very proud) I like being a FLUFFY because I'm ALWAYS the
cutest Corgi at the Agility Trials (and I know it!), I know I can never go to
Westminster dog show (how boring)
But Fluffy's can strut their stuff in Agility!!!
"Angel lives in Salem MA. She had the honor of being the Number 1 Dog in Salem when she was a few months old by winning a contest over many other dogs. She got the #1 license the following year and had her picture on the front page of the paper. She is from Lamin Kennels in Ballston Spa, NY. She was also Miss July on a calendar last year. Her owner is ll years old and when she does anything to displease Angel, Angel goes under the bed and refuses to come out except for ...you guessed it. Food"
Annie likes to play soccer and herd the cats. She is a big lap dog that
can't wait for me to turn my chair around so that she can jump up into my lap.
I find that her coat does not mat up and she doesn't blow coat so grooming is
much easier than I expected.

owner: Adam Zilinskas owner: Susan Piper, Oregon Barkday: July 22, 1999 "What I like most about fluffies? Hmmmmm. They really are beautiful. And I hear they are generally very sweet. Not necessarily in that order." My name is Berwyn Tum-Tum Bumblebutt. I was born a few days after Christmas, 2004. I live in Dallas, Texas with my pack leaders, Michael and Brandy. I love them more than I love myself, which is saying a lot, because I really love myself! I like sitting and drinking from my water bowl, chewing on new toys, and eating hot dogs with alphadad. I really enjoy going for walks because I have people running to come and meet me and tell me how beautiful I am! My alphadad thought that owning a fluffy wouldn't be as cool as having a "regular" Corgi...but after only a couple of months, he now realizes that Fluffies are the BEST! owners: Delwyn and Alan Benson, Tauranga. New Zealand
"I like all the nice pats and comments when we go for
walks.........I am rather vain you see." owners: Laura and Dan, Bloomington, MN Barkday (approximate): umm.....since I m adopted I don't know. "we like being call little foxes, we get petted more and brushed more, we shed more so we leave our mark everywhere, and when we frapp with Duke (cwc) all he gets is a mouthful of fluff if he grabs us, and humons like to pet the fluffy ones more because they know "THE POWER OF THE FLUFF" is strong and good."
owners: Heidi and Christopher Grable Barkday: May 30, 1993 "i like all de attenshun dat i get frum peeple who think dat i'm beeyutiful. an i like to use the power of de fluff to make peeple happy." breeder: Mindy Holmes, Northbrook, IL, Maplecreek Corgis This is Buddy McGloin, an 11 year old fluff. He lives in Adelaide, South Australia with his Mum (Susan), Dad (Chris) and brother and sister (cats Charlie and Tabitha). Buddy was born in England and came to live with us at 6 months old. Since then he has become the heart of our family and lived in New Zealand for 5 years before coming to live in Adelaide 4 years ago.
owner: Jeanne Urbano, Thomaston, Connecticut barkday: January 25, 2000 I came to my Connecticut home in a big motor home from Cheboygan, Michigan. My breeder Mommy & Daddy are Millie & Jerry Williams of Kallista Welsh Corgis. Mommy Milly is SO COOL & knows all about what makes us silly Corgis happy. She is the greatest! My Corgi Mommy & Daddy are champions Hayley & Weston. I am so proud of ALL my Mommies & Daddies. My favorite thinks in the whole world are: 1.) when my Mom kicks the soccer ball & I bring it back to her. I never want to stop! 2.) racing over any agility course.....he-he....my Mom can't keep up! She can be such a dork....he-he! 3.) and "gutting" my grunters & squeakers! And HEY...guess what...my Mom is thinking of getting me a new fluffy brother if she can find one! WOW.....I have a GREAT life! What fun we have in Connecticut!!

Hi, found this page and couldn't wait to
share---our 'heart' dog, Digby, first corgi, and beautiful fluffy, came to us
from Jeanne O'Dell in Columbus GA at 3 months. He's been our 'bestest' boy
ever since!

We were so happy to see there are other fluffy owners!
Elena is nearly 3 years old (8/15/2003) and was born in Falmouth, Kentucky.
She now lives in Orange, Connecticut outside of New Haven with her non-fluffy
corgi brother, Mr. Dribbles. Elena is one of the most social dogs around -
she follows us from room to room and watches over our new 3 1/2 month old baby
girl.

Emmitt joined our family on June 4th. My name is Evan. I was born January 5, 2000. I came home when I was 9 1/2 weeks old and took right over. I'm in charge of my mom Lynne, my dad Bill, my Golden Retriever sister Brooke Leigh and 2 kitty brothers and 3 kitty sisters. It's not an easy job taking care of them all, but I enjoy it. In my spare time I love to chase my soccer ball and fetchie. My parents are convinced that "FLUFFIES RULE"!! Evan lives in Haverhill, MA. with his parents Bill & Lynne Eldredge owners: Marie L. Cooner & Joe Novak, Charlton Barkday: May 15 is me date o birth "I luv all the of the attention I attract at Corgi events. I luv hoomans because their opposed thumb design is perfect for ear scritches!" breeder: Gayle Putt, Cincinnati, OH Gabby lives in Canada, Autumn is litter sister to Gabby, and Ruckus is litter brother to both (there were 4 fluffs in a litter of 8). Gizmo is an amazing dog - I was working at a veterinary clinic in California
in 1994 as a technician when our paths crossed. He was in a cage for an entire
month as he had suffered breaks to both his pelvic bone and femur owners: Pieter and Jenny Owen , Sydney Australia Teasing Molly and Max is the best thing I know (except for mealtimes of
course). I was born in April 2001 and am already a big boy. 'Grommet' is
also Australian surfing slang for 'junior', which may have suited me when I was
a little ball of fluff... owner: Randi Latimer, So. Arizona you can also see me as a puppy - I'm one listed under Bear and Snuffy, above! owner: Lisa Kokes, Ellicott City, Maryland Barkday: April 5, 1998, from Ballston Spa NY; Phyllis Lambert, breeder "Gorgeousness, and the proven fact that the fluff factor also creates a fantastic personality."
breeder: Marian Your, Texas Barkday: July 2000 "Lokatin Lötkö-Pötkö, my dearest Corgi boy, was born in may 2001 and died
accidentally 1,5 year after. True Gentleman and charmer. He stole my heart
forever, and I hope to get one day new fluffy. Leevi`s memory lives in my
heart forever. Rest in peace my dear one." Beautiful rescue fluff owned by Susie and Wayne Noel Tho' you have but a short time on this earth, you have been loved so deeply. You have brought laughter, joy and love. We only hope that some may say this of us when we are gone.
"I’m Mako Fox & I just turned 10 years old and
won a raffle basket to benefit our local animal shelter. I have degenerative
myelopathy, which is like doggie multiple sclerosis, so I’m learning how to
use my new wheelchair.
Mom keeps my body clipped, because I go swimming in my pool for physical therapy & I dry a lot quicker. Otherwise, fluff is great! I love swimming, kayaking, surfing & snow-sledding. I used to win lots of first prizes at the NCSU Dog Olympics….I loved obstacle courses and especially, the doggie musical sit." He was the only fluffy in a litter bred for show, but we didn't realize what he was until his adult coat came in. He loves the water so much that we jokingly call him a viking boat corgi, and people have asked if he's a "border corgi". We love him & realize, now, that he probably won't live to ripe old age. We enjoy him every moment. Liz Fox
owner: Eric and Kim Miller, Newberg, Oregon Barkday: February 8, 1999 " Mandy likes everyone saying how cute she is, but she gets tired of people asking what she is." owner: Ellie Forsberg, Sweden Born in 1999 He is a lovely and kind dog, and wants to be a member in the Great Hall of Fluffs!
Hi, my name is Sir Merlin Seamus Roibeaird, but my friends call me Merlin. I
live with my mom, and my two pet cats. People are always stopping mom and I
and asking 'is that a CORGI??" I don't know what all the fuss is, but I do
love the attention.
I love the "Great Hall of Fluff" and am sending a photo of my recently adopted fluffy with her sister. Mizzy, the fluffy, is the dearest critter in the world and loves bossing the 95 pound Rottie.
Molle is a brother to Marco. They have the same
mother but different fathers. He also lives in Sweden and was born in 1998.
He is a real clown, who came to live with my daughter (Angelika) when he was
two and a half years old. He had a little hard life before that, but now he is
lovely and he helps Angelika with her horse (he thinks he helps, but I don't
think A agrees with him)
Hi - I'm Molly, a North Carolina fluff celebrating my third birthday owners: Joe, Nancy and David Kling in Seven Lakes, NC Barkday: 7/3/01
owner: Walt, Betsy and Andrea Boyes, Maple Valley WA Barkday: April 10fth 2000 " I gotted to be lubbed by the Boyes family...cuz I wudn have bin ders eksept." Ollie was 3 months when this was taken. He came from Mary Day at Stillwater kennels in Olympia Washington. He now resides in North Vancouver, Canada and is currently seeking his landed immigrant status! With the passing of our long time breeder here in North Van we were forced to look to the U.S. (Corgis are kind of scarce up here… sadly) Mary has such a beautiful kennel with marvelous dogs. A credit to the profession.
Off to that rainbow in the sky on August 23, 2004 owner: Linda L. Taylor, Seattle, Wa. Barkday: Dec. 3,1990 "the best thing about being a fluffy is all the attention I get from humans! Also I heard my human say the ancient Celts prided themselves on long beautiful hair (she likes to read books) so I am keeping up the tradition. I also like the idea of "marching to a different drummer" sometimes. If everyone fit the same standard it would be a boring world!" Pete, CGC is the fluff who has captured our hearts! Tim and Jill Rust, Wichita Kansas Phoenix (Woodbine Puffy Phoenix owner: Raelene Gorlinsky, northwest Oregon Barkday: Nov. 18, 1998 "Everyone thinks I am beautiful and sweet." Hi, I am Raisin and I am five months old and my barkday was in November 2004. My ma says I am the most beautiful Cardigan in the world! I live in Minnesota, and BOY was it COLD when I had to go outside to go potty in January! I was SOOOO GLAD to be a fluff! It is April now, and the grass just turned this new color today, and it is all soft under my feet. I like to go outside, and I like to go for walks. My family walks with me about 3 miles every day, and I always find pinecones to carry – HOORAY! I have an older sister, Dolly, who is not a fluff. Guess WHO gets all the attention when we meet new friends??? ME ME ME! ARRRRROOOOOOOOO!!! Owners: Pam and Jeanette, St Paul MN owner: Ken Taylor and Mary Jane Anderson, Woodinville WA Barkday: April 25, 1995 "I get alot more attention from strangers than my plain old little brother Rosco - he is merely a red and white regular coated corgi. Everyone loves to pet my ultra soft fur and wants to know all about me and my tri-colored fluffiness. Mom and Dad are so grateful that I don't shed like Rosco... he sheds enough for both of us! One drawback to being a Supreme Fluff is the extra baths and trims I must endure, because my glorious fur will not let go of dirt and mud! Fluffs rule!" "Being fluffy means I am special. Everyone
owner: Karla and Chris Conway, Birmingham, Alabama This is Faerie Glen Sabrina - who I lovingly call "The Czarina!" She
owner: Steve, Pat and Alex Emslie, Palo Alto, California Barkday: June 4, 1996 "I have the softest and most beautiful coat!"
owner: Alex and Michele Thurber , Teaneck, NJ Barkday: 2/14/99 - Valentines Day! "everyone wants to cuddle with me cuz of my soft fur"
Sherman has probably been the greatest gift of my
life. I never had a Corgi before but knew I wanted one someday. When a local
breeder had some Corgi pups I had the choice between 3 in the litter. There
was a male fluffy who was so intelligent and so playful, so that's who I
chose. Never in my wildest dreams would I ever believe that this little guy
would introduce me to the world of dog obedience, go from being a Novice A dog
to obtaining an OTCH title and become the number 1 obedience Pembroke in the
U.S. and Canada.

OTCH Cherry Grove Can Can UDX2
Born December, 1996
Rochester, NY
owner: Linda Kerr Barkday: 04/21/01 We are owned by a fluffy Pem tri-color named Sofie. She shares us with the other dogs in the family, three German Shepherds and a tri-color Pem named Abbey. Sofie wants to follow her big Pem "sister's" footsteps in the obedience and Therapy Dog world. The FLUFF makes her sooooooo soft and lovable to the touch. Everyone wants to pet and love her when they see all that beautiful hair! We got the impression, when we first started looking for a corgi, that
fluffies were the "misfits" or "mistakes" of the breed, but once we met Sophie,
we knew she was for us. Fluffies are the most rare, finest jewels of all the
corgis. owner: Marnie and Rich Aaron, Colorado Barkday: January 1, 1987 Rainbow Bridge February 6, 2002 Sparky is a Cardigan, the only fluff born in a litter of 10 in Rhode Island. "I really enjoy the cold weather and snow in Colorado. My fluffy coat is wonderful in the winter months - I stay very warm. I love to play and run in the snow! My owners took a tour of the US for a year, and I went everywhere with them with my companion, Scooter the cat!" My name is Spencer Sweet Pea (Kallista's Little White Lie, b. 11/11/00) and
owned by (or should we say she owns) Lissa Wall Star has titles in agility and herding! Tasha was born in September 2001. Her best friend is a Westie called Billy who has been bullied by corgis for 8 years (we had a non-fluffy corgi before) but he seems to quite like it!
This is
Teddy-(bear) she's 15 weeks old. We know fluffies are cuter than the average
Corgi (although all are very lovable) so we hunted Teddy down and are very
lucky to have her. She is fat and fluffy- like a Teddy bear thus resulting in
her name!
Timothy and his friend Lucy! Linda & furry friends in Seattle WA USA owner: Diane Gray, near Buffalo,NY "I was a puppy raiser for Canine Companions for Independence's hearing dog program. I raised Van Scyoc, Van for short, no pun intended ;-) He was released from the program two short weeks from graduation. He wasn't cut out to be a hearing dog but he is a great companion. He is in agility classes which he loves. He also love to herd my cats and other dog. He is also VERY intelligent. He knows the names of his toys and will bring me the one I ask for. This gives him great mental exercise and keeps him happy. Love the site. It's fun to see all the fluffies like my Van! owner: Bill and Jan, North Carolina barkday: 7/12/99 Willow's favorite activities are soccer, barking at trains, chasing planes and annoying the cats (not necessarily in that order) owner: Pat Hogan barkdays: Wool E. Bear (drop ears) July 3, 1987, Shiner June 1988 Sadly, Wool E. Bear left for Rainbow Bridge October 2000 "We like being with mom. When she goes, we go." Owner: John Volpe and family, St. Paul, Minnesota "Zack has many titles; heart thief, wonder dog, poopie, and most recently mouse catcher supreme! Since coming to us from the Busy Bee's, he has been nothing but a joy. We could not agree more that Fluffies are the most beautiful of Corgis and Tri-colors the best of the best (not that we are biased). New discovery this week: He LOVES the cold and snow here in Minnesota... long live (fluffy) corgis!!"
Owner: Pam Swanson, Moline, IL Zorro is very fluffy and very alpha--a bold combination! |
