way of Pike County, Georgia then on to Bossier Parish.

A passport for travel was issued to William
Spurlin and appears in the record book at the Georgia Department
Archives and History on Page
221, Dated 31st October 1810. It reads,
"On Application,
ORDERED
That passports be prepared for the following persons to
travel through the Creek Nation of Indians, to wit, one for
Messrs. John Eddy and Van Robertson, the former with his wife and
three children, from the county of Wilkinson, one for Micajah
Brooksm and one for William Spurlin, both from the county of
Warren in this state -- which were severally presented and
signed."

died November 13, 1855.
He died at
home before 20 June 1860.
From the testimony of Gideon Allen, Green Spurlin died in the
early part of June, 1860, in Lafayette County, Arkansas. The Bossier
Banner published his obiturary on 15 June 1860, p.
3a:
"On Saturday 9th instant [9 June 1860], at
his residence in Lafayette county, Ark., GREEN SPURLIN, aged
sixty-four years, six months and fifteen days."
On 23 February 1856, Green Spurlin dictated
his "nuncupative" will to a Bossier Parish, Louisiana, notary,
Vincent Walker, who wrote it down, and Spurlin, witnesses, and the
notary signed it.

His son, Green H. Spurlin, had some
"affictions (he not being able to labor)." Green H. was
"crippled."

He made specific bequests to his sons
Green H. and Riley Marion Spurlin.

ALLEN2 December 21, 1854 in Red Land, Louisana,
son of GIDEON ALLEN and
MARY HORN.
He was born March 06, 1835 in Twiggs County, Georgia, and
died September 27, 1906 in Plain Dealing, LA.
The following article was published
in The Bossier Banner on 26 February 1931, p. 1d:
"Mrs. Emily Allen Died Last Thursday;
Funeral Services Were Held Friday -
She
died on 19 February 1931 after an illness of a month at the home
of her son G.G. Allen.
Services were at Plain Dealing Baptist Church, where she
was a member for 41 years and a charter member. Survived by 2 sons -- G.G.
and J.R. of Texarkana, Arkansas: 3 daughters -- Mrs. S.H. Cochran
of Shreveport, Mrs R.E. Lee of Little Rock, Ark., and Mrs. W.T.
Norman of Winnfield, La.; 21 grandchildren, 44
great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. She moved from Red Land to
Plain Dealing "over forty years ago." Married at Red Land before
the Civil War; her husband was reputedly the oldest Mason in the
state before his death.
She was the daughter of Green Spurlin and Mati1da Truitt,
and the granddaughter "

Birth and Death Dates were taken from a
grave found in the Salem Cemetary in Plain Dealing. The headstone
inscription reads "A. J. SPURLIN Circa 1828-October 17,
1888-H/Mary Spurlin /60yrs 7mos 12dys /Father"

Confederate Army on May 11, 1862 as a Private He was assigned
to. Co. B. ("Marks Guards") 28th La.
