Hi,
What a
grand meeting we had Sunday. Lots of food, drinks and
wonderful fire. Thanks to Emaree's down home training
she whipped the fire into a great roasting. We even got
into a sing-along around the ole camp fire. Anne and
co-host Sara did such a great job that we should turn
all the meetings over to them. There were 16 present.
The largest gathering in quite a while.
We celebrated Bea's birthday
and bid Linda a fond farewell. She is moving to New
Mexico the end of December. Some of us are going to
help her with some packing Saturday at 10:00 am. If you
care to join us.....we'll be pleased to see you. She
also has some furniture to sell. You will have to
contact her about that.
Our December meeting will be
at Ming Garden on December 14th, 5:00 pm. Dutch
Treat..We are planning to invite Father Ben and Jackie,
and Father Bill and Cheryl to join us. They will be
treated as GUESTS. Please let me or Anne know if you
plan to attend. We need to make reservations by
December 12th. Call Anne at 635-3009 and e-mail me or
call 929-2490.
Hoping to see you then.

Hi,
We had
only 7 at our Sunday meeting. And those of you that
missed....shame-shame. Our chef, Bernie, made a great
chicken casserole.....NOODLES WERE MADE BY BERNIES OWN
HANDS. And I am waiting for my micro to be fixed so I
can nuke a frozen dinner.
Not too
much news. We talked about the December stage show.
More info to follow. We discussed inviting Father Bill
and Sheryl to our November coookout at Anne's house and
asking Father Ben and Jackie to join us for our December
dinner out. No resturant has been chosen.
Daniele's
address is: 114 Joiner Ave.
San Angelo, TX 76905
Jan's son
will be cremated and interred at Hillcrest. A service
will be at 11:00 AM on Friday 17th. There will be no
write up or photo in the local paper, but will probably
be listed in the Obits. His name is John (jack) Phinney.
No more
news. As you know Anne's computer is still on strike.

Hi,
We had a good
group and great meeting on the 13th. It started with a
BANG. A bottle of wine exploded when I was opening it.
What confusion and a mess. The meeting went
on.........Another bottle of wine was opened and we ate.
Anne is home
(for a while) and took over the meeting. There were 13 of
us plus Rudy. We agreed to go see Mama Mia and did so last
Sunday with a hamburger afterwards. Let Anne or me know if
you want another outing planned.
The next
meeting will be August 10th at Bob's house with Dot
co-hosting. Bob is going to get his grill going and we are
to bring what ever we want to cook. Some of our members
don't have access to outdoor grills and we all really enjoy
it, plus the lake view.
I plan to
leave for Houston Friday the 25th. No problems, just
needing time with family, especially the greatgrands. I plan
to return Monday or Tuesday.
Love Ya,
Alice

4-15-08 Hi,
Those of you who were
not at our Sunday meeting missed a fabulous meal at Pat's. Lovely
home....lovely view......lovely food......lovely people.
We are only 10 DAYS AWAY
FROM THE ITALIAN DINNER. Those attending Sunday are going to handle the
same jobs...provide same food,
wine, plates, glasses,
etc. The EFG will assist with serving (8). We are needing more servers
from Solo. Due to illnesses, knee replacements,
and family obligations
we are running short of servers. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF WE CAN DEPEND ON YOU
FOR THE 25th.
We can also use door
prizes or things for a silent auction.
Keep your receipts for
expenditures you want to be reimbursed. Remember it takes at least a week
to get a check due to the signatures required.
Our dinner is a
wonderful and popular event in our church and with the help of all of you we
will be able to continue doing in up in GRAND STYLE.
We welcomed a new member
from St. James, Debbie Knight. If you know others who are interested in
joining us......BRING THEM ON.

3-31-08 Sorry I have been so busy.....but on the 1st and 2nd of April I will be in Little Rock clearing out the house and putting it on the market. I have made arrangements for the yard to be raked and mowed.......the furnishings to be hauled away........garbage on the street........realtor to meet me there and house to be listed with REMAX and they will arrange for the cleaning when we are out. Unfortunately, my aunt still harbors the thought that she could have remained there and taken care of herself. But my answer is "maybe at 94 years YOUNG she could have stayed with help, but at 80 years OLD I could not be the one to provide the help and there was no one else". But to the dinner. I have all the info from our last dinner, and I believe at the last Solo meeting Anne said everyone would handle the jobs they had last year. There will be 8 round tables, 2 long tables seating 14 each, 3 long tables seating 12 each and 2 long tables seating 6 each. There will be 133 seating places, 120 tickets to be sold (Jackie is aware of this and will handle the printing of the tickets and notices the first part of April) and there will be only 1 seating as was last year. The round tables will seat 7. The EFG is eager to serve and if anyone has a special job they would prefer to do...please let me know. I know this seems like a late start, but Easter was so early and I have been so pre-occupied. We still have time to do it up grand. The next meeting will be on the 13th at Pat's house with me co-hosting. Please attend.....it's the final meeting before the dinner. Remember I have notes from the last dinner if anyone needs help. We need to remember to have enough food for the EFG and our Soloers. We plan to feed 120 (sold tickets) plus about 18 or 20 helpers. Love to all. Alice
