The Congregation Children of Israel Junior Youth Group is open to
children grades 3-8th. The CCI Junior Youth Group serves as a social
outlet for Jewish children in our community, participating in community service
activities, religious activities, and FUN activities. The Junior
Youth Group is currently affiliated with Young Judea. Children do not need
to be members of the Temple to participate in activities.
Some of the more recent activities enjoyed by the CCI Junior Youth Group
include:
Introductory Pizza Party—we played games and ate pizza as a way to
get to know each other
Sukkot Campout—we went to Sandy Creek park for a sleepover and
Sukkot building party
Movie and a Mitzvah—we watched Shrek while wrapping Channukah
presents for children in the former Soviet Union
Bowling at Showtime Bowl—great way to have fun after Hebrew School
Ice Cream Israel—we designed ice cream maps of Israel and ate them!
We also prepared a dinner for the Homeless Shelter
Chocolate Seder—we invited our families to join us in celebrating
Passover with lots of chocolate!
Our leaders this year are Holly Kaplan, Lizz Bernstein with major help from
Ed Glausser.
We still have events planned for this year. For more information call the
Temple office at (706) 549-4192.
