Velvet

Velvet was adopted along with his son Beau in April 2005 from Goliath and Bebe's World. They were two of the "50 cat rescue" by the group talked about in the local paper. A woman who had collected more than 50 cats had to give them up when she moved in with her daughter. The rescue group was responsible for placing all of these cats in good homes. He and Beau were the main reason that Karen and I became involved with volunteering for Goliath and Bebe's World.

Velvet had several teeth pulled shortly after arriving due to severe dental problems. He recovered well from this and a long period of gaining trust in humans began. He is extremely shy around other people but is a real sweetheart with the other cats. He is a "daddy's boy" who curls up next to Ken each evening.
