Tommy Cat

Karen came home one winter evening and told me about a dead animal on our road. I had just gotten out of the shower, so I threw on a pair of shorts and we jumped in the car to make certain it was dead. I saw an orange ball of fur in the road and just as we passed it, the furball crawled a step and collapsed. I jumped out of the car and ran over to what I could now see was an injured cat. A semi came around the corner before I could pick up the cat so I frantically waved my arms at the semi. Fortunately there was enough light from Karen's headlights for the truck driver to see me and he veered around. I grabbed the cat and we made a dash for the emergency vet. They looked shocked when this odd guy covered with blood and only wearing shorts in freezing weather staggered in. The husband and wife vets quickly regained their composure when they saw the injured cat in my arms. As they checked the cat out one of the vets asked what the cat's name was. I explained that we had just found the cat and then asked what sex the cat was. Now you know how Tommy got his name!

Tommy came home a week later with a 'Frankenstein' suture across his chin where they had to remove part of his jawbone. With a lot of time and patience he recovered and acclimated to his new home. The only lingering effects from the accident is a limp. Tommy is alpha cat here. He has helped each of the new adoptees adjust to their new surroundings. He is mild mannered but quite intelligent. Tommy gets along well with everybody except Miss Kitty, but then she doesn't care much for any of the guys here.
