Our Guilds’ goal is to promote and perpetuate the art of quilting.  In carrying out this purpose, the guild is intended to benefit and educate those interested in preserving, continuing and maintaining such art.

In addition to the program, we have lots of activities going on each month.
Visitors welcome - $5 guest fee.

NEWSLETTER - A monthly newsletter is sent to all members electronically, unless the member wants it sent by US mail.  Newsletters sent by US mail are an additional $5.00 per year.   Information for the next newsletter is due by the day of the guild board meeting.

SMALL GROUPS - There are various small groups that meet to work on individual and group projects. This is a great way to get to know other guild members better.

RAFFLE - we have two kinds of raffles every month.  The “Birthday Raffle” items are donated by the Guild members that have a birthday that month.  Tickets for these raffle items are 4 for $1.00.  Our other raffle is sponsored by the Guild.  Tickets for this raffle are $1.00 each.  For some reason, visitors and new members are always very lucky - SO GOOD LUCK !

BLOCK OF THE MONTH - This group selects a series of related quilting blocks each year.  Each month  (for 12 months) those participating members receive a pattern that includes fabric requirements and block sewing directions.  The current fee for participation is $6.00 per year.   You can join anytime and get all the previous patterns to catch up!  Some members bring finished blocks to display.  The colors and fabric choices are always so different!

“Just for You” QUILT PROJECT - This is one of our major Community Service Projects.  Every year, we create quilts for children that are patients at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta - Scottish Rite Hospital.  When a child (ages birth to 18 yrs.) arrives for major surgery, long term treatment, or other serious illnesses, they are given a quilt to keep; something to comfort them during a very difficult time.  We have been supporting this cause since 2001.  The first year we made 70+ quilts and last year, we topped 400 !!!  Typically, the May program is devoted to showcasing all the quilts that have been worked on throughout the year.

FABRIC EXCHANGE - This group was started to allow members to increase their fabric stash.  Currently we are exchanging Charm Squares (6 inch blocks of fabric).  Each month, the Fabric Exchange Committee selects the color, theme or pattern for the fabric.   You bring multiple quantities one design of the selected fabric and go home with an equal quantity of multiple designs.  Participation is free.

SECRET SISTERS - Participation in this group is open to everyone, but you must sign up in September to participate.  They draw names and give their “secret quilting sister” a gift each month.  There are several get-togethers during the year and the BIG REVEAL is in early summer.

SHOW AND TELL - This monthly event showcases the work of our guild members.  The event is lead off by a “Quilter of the Month”.  This person is determined by the random selection of a numbered spool.  The spools are available at the Membership Desk where members sign in.  The spool that is selected leads off Show and Tell next month.

NAME BADGES - See those ladies (and some men) with all those crazy pins and ribbons on their name badges?  Pins are awarded for special recognition - Tip of the Month, Quilter of the Month, Past Board Member, etc. Ribbons are awarded for nearly everything! You get one for each item you show at Show and Tell; you get them for contributions to special projects; you get them for special events - and as you can see, some people get really involved!!!! (You receive your badge when you become a member.)

BULLETIN BOARD - This bulletin board is used to display news items and upcoming events of interest to Quilters.  Check it out to learn more about what is happening in the world of quilting and especially around the greater Atlanta area.
